There is but one only, the living and True God.

What does it mean that God is living?
Acts 14:15 ““Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.”
John 5:26 “For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.”
So, the anwer to our question says thatGod is living… What does that mean? Is God alive? What does it mean to be living?
So, even the dictionary can only define alive, in Tucker’s favorite way, by its opposite. Not dead, is the definition of alive.
Does anyone remember the definintions of eternal and infinite? So, if we say God is infinitely and eternally living, what does that say about him. It means, not only, that he won’t and can’t die, but that he is the very source of life.
What is truth?
Jeremiah 10:10 “But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God and the everlasting King. At his wrath the earth quakes, and the nations cannot endure his indignation.”
We defined the word truth last week. Do you remember what we said that it meant? It means reality. So what does it mean that God is the true God? It means that he is really God and he is actually God.
Can there be more that one reality? More than one truth? No of course not. The answer cannot be yes and no. God and Allah cannot both be God.
Knowing God attributes from last week, we add two more. God is living and God is true. True meaning that that God is truth in reality, he is the source of reality. Nothing can be true if it contradicts what God commands.
God is living tells us that God is the source and sustainer of life. God is the only one who lives truly. He existed before time, eternally. No other thing or being lives like that.
