IN v32-33, What is going on here?

Why is it surprising that Jesus is with them?

What does Jesus say in v34 and why is it so amazing?

Jesus' plea for forgiveness for His persecutors shows God’s immense love and grace.

2. Irony!

Luke 23:35-38

What is irony?

What 3 ironic things are said about Jesus?

What is ironic about what they say?

Unless Jesus dies they cannot be saved - so if he did save himself he couldn’t save them!

What is the point they have missed and we should not!?

3. Fear God and Ask for Mercy

Luke 23:39-41

What does the 1st criminal say?

How does the 2nd criminal rebuke the 1st?

What does the 2nd criminal recognise about Jesus?

4. Choosing Jesus (not ourselevs)

Luke 23:42-43

What does the criminal ask - what does that show about him?

What does Jesus promise and what does he mean?

What should we think about and do in response to what we have heard to day?
