1 Timothy 4:11-16

How is wisdom measured?

1. Wisdom is built through faithfulness.

“word” - Teaching

“conversation” - love, faith, purity - motives and actions

Prophet not accepted in hometown.

Build influence through profound faithfulness.

2. Wisdom directs attention to proper worship.

“public reading” - Regular feature in early Christian worship.

“exhortation” - Encouragement that helps take right cause of action.

“teaching” - Instruction as to impart knowledge.

“Church is boring.”

We cannot neglect the matters of the church for the sake of man’s approval.

3. Wisdom identifies calling.

“gift” - charisma

“laying on of hands” - Transfer of spiritual authority. Priest to animal, healings, leadership

The calling of a pastor, minister, lay leader, disciple.

Pray for the church.
