Shema Israel \ "The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, with your whole being, and with your whole strength."
Keep repeating these words to your children: when at home, when you are away…
Shema Israel is the prayer that opens the ears of the children of Israel: Usually, it is the mother who teaches this for the first time, toddler
Imagine Jesus on the lap of Mary, hearing for the first time: "Hear, Jesus, the Lord alone is our God, the Lord alone. Dear son, you shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, with your whole being, and with your whole strength."
And fathers and mothers, this is the first truth you have to teach your children: there is one God, and you shall love Him… You must imitate this every day: "Son, daughter, there is only one God, and if you keep your love for Him, you will life for ever."
This is the greatest gift you can give to your children because the lessons we learn in childhood become second nature. Saint Thomas Aquinas says.
What is the benefit to teach this:
“First, it is the cause of spiritual life in them; it is clear that in the natural order, one who loves is in the beloved, and likewise, one who loves God has Him within.”
“It is also natural in love that the lover becomes transformed into the beloved.”
They can pass thought the sufferings: “For one who possesses charity, nothing adverse will harm them; rather, everything will work for their good (Romans 8:28).”
Let them be in God, let be transformed, and let them carry any adversity for love.
Why are our fathers stronger?
Because they teach us to love, and the one who loves is able to endure suffering for what they love. If we do not love, we lack strength.
What does it mean to love God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength?
· With our heart, our entire intention is for God. Our whole heart must be habitually directed toward God, consenting to nothing contrary to His love.
· With our whole mind, we regulate our desires according to God’s will.
· And with our whole strength, we express this through our actions.
But God ask this because he did firs.
We love because He first loved us. Jn 4:19
God never asks anything of us that He has not done first for us.
He loves us with His heart, with His soul, with His mind, and with His strength.
He loves you with all His mind, for before you were created, you were in the mind of God;
with all His soul, for He created the universe for you;
with all His strength, for He gave His Son;
and with all His heart, for His love has been given to us through the heart of Jesus.
Yes, since the incarnation, God loves us with a human heart—a heart that beats and suffers for you.
This is the sacred heart.
“Jesus, in Your heart we find
love of the Father and mankind;
these two loves to us impart
divine love in a human heart.”
Ha heart that suffer the most that you love him…
So you must repeat this every day; you must repeat this to your children.
When your heart asks, and when your children ask, “Why?”—the answer is, “Because He loves us first. He suffers so that we have the opportunity to live forever if we keep this love and act upon it.”
Brothers and sisters, when you hear, "You shall love God with all your heart," think of this sacred heart, burning with love for you and receiving nothing in return.
Here is the Heart which has so deeply loved men, it has spared nothing even exhausted and consumed itself to show them my love and in return all I receive from the majority of them is ingratitude.”
This heart is thirsty for your love.
Pay love with love.
