Introduction
Hello, this is Kenneth, and welcome to Dwell.
Today is Saturday, February 8th. Thanks for joining us for today's Dwell Kids Daily.
Thanks for joining us for The Melodic Line for Kids.
For the next few minutes, I invite you to join me as we look to our Great King by opening our hearts to hear from Him through the words of the Bible.
Silence
As we begin, let us remember that God calls His people, young and old, to be still and know that He is God. Let's take a few seconds to clear our minds, so that we can hear him better.
Opening Prayer
Father in heaven, your way is pure and your words are perfect. Remind us today that you are a shield for all those who take refuge in you.
Passage
Today our passage is from Romans chapter 3 verses 23-24 (ESV)
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
Exhortation
When God told the light to shine on the first day of creation, do you know what it did? It shown in bright obedience. When God told the wild waves to make way for the dry land, the seas submitted in obedience. When God commanded the trees to rise, they stood tall. When God told the stars where they needed to be, they didn't hesitate. When God told humans to obey him, they said "No!"
All humans everywhere have the arrogance to tell the glorious God "no". Isn't that crazy? The human heart is broken. Every human heart. Our passage says all have sinned. We all fall short. We all turn away from God's good ways. On our own, we are lost.
But God is extravagantly good. We who sin against him, we who fall short, we do not deserve his kindness. And yet, in Jesus, we get it. In Jesus, our sins are washed away. In Jesus, we are made whole and right and new!
And all of this undeserved kindness is a gift from God. It is not something we earn, it is not something we work for. It is all grace. And it is all because of Jesus.
Call to Action
Let’s take a moment to marvel at the grace of God we find in Jesus,
Closing Prayer
Let’s pray together.
Father, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. We rejoice that we find forgiveness in Jesus. Help us, by the Holy Spirit, to receive your grace. We are not worthy of your extravagant kindness, and yet, here we are holding the gift of salvation in our healing hearts. We praise you, and we pray to you in the holy name of King Jesus. Amen.
Outro
It's been great to be with you today.
Tomorrow, we'll be in Matthew chapter 14. Until then, go in peace, and let the word of King Jesus dwell in you richly.
Now, go in peace and let the word of King Jesus dwell in you richly.
