**Sermon: "Fresh Oil, Fresh Anointing for This Hour"**
**Scripture:** *Psalm 92:10* – "But my horn You have exalted like a wild ox; I have been anointed with fresh oil."
**Introduction:**
In every season of life, God offers us a "fresh anointing" — a fresh outpouring of His presence, power, and provision. The anointing of the Holy Spirit is not just a past experience; it is a present reality that empowers us for the challenges and opportunities of today. In this hour, as we navigate the complexities of life, God is calling His people to receive a fresh anointing, a new impartation of His oil to rise to our divine calling.
**1. Understanding the Anointing:**
The anointing refers to God's supernatural empowerment through the Holy Spirit to do His work. In biblical times, oil was used for consecration, healing, and as a symbol of the Holy Spirit. The anointing is more than just a feeling—it is the tangible presence of God that empowers us to fulfill our purpose.
- **Consecration and Calling**: The anointing sets us apart for God’s service, just as David was anointed to be king (1 Samuel 16:13). God's anointing marks us for a divine purpose and equips us to accomplish things beyond our own strength.
- **Healing and Restoration**: The anointing brings healing. In James 5:14, it says, "Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." This is a reminder that God's power is available to heal and restore us.
**2. Fresh Oil for a New Season:**
God wants to pour fresh oil upon His people for this season. Just as David declared in Psalm 92:10, "I have been anointed with fresh oil," there is an anointing available to empower us in every new season of life. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities, and God is ready to equip us with a fresh supply of His Spirit.
- **In Times of Transition**: When we face new seasons, such as new jobs, new relationships, or spiritual growth, we need fresh anointing to navigate the changes with wisdom and grace. God does not want us to rely on yesterday’s oil for today’s challenges.
- **In Times of Crisis**: When we face struggles and hardships, God provides fresh oil to sustain us, just like He gave the Israelites manna daily. His anointing renews our strength and empowers us to persevere.
**3. The Benefits of the Fresh Anointing:**
- **Power to Overcome**: The fresh anointing brings victory over every obstacle. In Zechariah 4:6, the Lord tells us, "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit," reminding us that it's only through His anointing that we can do what seems impossible.
- **Clarity and Wisdom**: The fresh anointing opens our eyes to understand the will of God for our lives. It gives us the wisdom to make decisions and the discernment to know God's voice amid confusion.
- **Joy and Strength**: The anointing brings joy that surpasses circumstances and strength that comes from the Lord. Isaiah 61:3 speaks of the "oil of gladness" instead of mourning, showing how God’s anointing brings deep, inner joy.
**4. How to Receive the Fresh Anointing:**
- **Ask and Receive**: God freely gives His Spirit to those who seek Him. Jesus said, "If you, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!" (Matthew 7:11). Ask God for the fresh oil of His Spirit today.
- **Surrender and Yield**: We must yield to the Holy Spirit. The more we surrender our hearts and lives to God, the more of His Spirit we can receive. Let go of self-reliance and embrace His anointing.
- **Pray and Seek His Presence**: Prayer is the channel through which we invite the fresh anointing into our lives. Spend time in the presence of God, asking for renewal and empowerment.
**5. Walking in the Fresh Anointing:**
Once we receive the fresh oil of God's Spirit, we must walk in it. The anointing is not just for us to feel good—it is to empower us to do God's work. When we walk in the anointing, we:
- **Reflect God’s Glory**: Our lives become a testimony of God’s power and grace. People will see His anointing on us and be drawn to Him.
- **Serve with Authority**: The anointing gives us boldness to step out in faith, to serve, to evangelize, and to be a witness of His kingdom.
**Conclusion:**
In this hour, we need fresh oil and a fresh anointing from God. As we seek His presence and surrender to His Spirit, He will equip us with everything we need to fulfill our calling. The challenges of this season are no match for the power of God’s anointing, which can break every yoke and empower us to live victorious lives. Let us open our hearts to receive a fresh anointing and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, for the harvest is ripe, and we are called to labor in His name!
**Prayer:**
Lord, we thank You for the fresh oil of Your anointing. We ask that You pour out Your Spirit upon us in this hour. Empower us to fulfill Your purpose for our lives, and help us to walk in victory and authority through Your Holy Spirit. We receive Your fresh anointing today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
