Invocation
Invocation
Good morning, brethren. Welcome this Lord’s Day to Broadway Baptist Church. We have gathered this day to be filled by the presence of our God.
Have you come here for God? Listen to what Psalm 73 says:
Who do I have in heaven but you?
And I desire nothing on earth but you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart,
my portion forever.
Is that true for us? Whatever competing desires and distractions we brought here with us, let us lay them down. Let us turn our hearts to our God and find in Him our portion and our strength. Pray with me.
Confession
Confession
Father in heaven, we have gathered as your people who bear your holy and matchless Name, to humble ourselves and seek your face.
Lord, we confess that we have acted wickedly in your sight. We have lied, cheated, acted presumptuously, gossiped, and held grudges against one another. Forgive us our sins.
We praise you for the forgiveness of sins that we have in Jesus alone, in who’s great Name we pray, Amen.
2 Chronicles 7:14 “and my people, who bear my name, humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”
