Where is that found?
36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And He said to him, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 “This is the great and foremost commandment. 39 “The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 “On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”
Remember Jesus takes the original 10 and breaks them into 2 categories
The first deal with which relationship?
The second deal with which relationship?
What are the first 7 commandments?
Have no other Gods before me
Have no idols
Do not take the Lords name in vain
Keep the Sabbath and keep it holy
Honor your Father and Mother
You shall not Murder
You shall not commit adultery
Where are they found in scripture?
Exodus 20
Anyone have an idea on the 8th commandment?
15 “You shall not steal.
What is stealing?
the act of taking someones property without permission
Guy to put it as simple as we can is to just read the scripture
Don’t steal anything
Don’t steal a pen or pencil, don’t steal monies or toys
If you are you should stop
If you are stealing have stolen you first need to deal with it Jesus and then you need to go and ask the person you stole from for forgiveness, if that is a sibling or a parent
The reason we do it in that order is that is Biblical
We repent from our sin which is to confess it to Jesus and stop it and run the other way, and ask forgiveness from Jesus
Then we go and repair the relationship with other people
