PSALM 119:1-8 COMMITMENT TO GOD’S WORD DILIGENTLY PURSUE GOD’S WORD TO HAVE A VIBRANT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. PSALM 119:9-16 VALUE GOD’S WORD. MY PASSION FOR GOD’S WORD WILL LEAD ME TO RIGHTEOUS LIFE CHOICES. PSALM 119:17-24 DIRECTED BY GOD’S WORD! GOD’S WORD MUST BE MY SOURCE OF DIRECTION FOR LIFE CHOICES TODAY. PSALM 119:25-33 ENCOURAGED BY GOD’S WORD BE ENCOURAGED TO LIVE CONFIDENTLY IN GOD THROUGH GOD’S TRUTH. PSALM 119:33-40 TRANSFORMED BY GOD’S WORD ALLOW GOD TO SHAPE YOUR INNER MAN THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD. PSALM 119:41-48 LIVE BOLDLY BY THE WORD LIVE BOLDLY FOR GOD WHILE RESTING IN HIS LOVE AND TRUTH! PSALM 119:49-56 COMFORTED THROUGH THE WORD GOD COMFORTS OUR HEART WITH HOPE AND COURAGE THROUGH THE WORD IN THE HARD TIMES OF LIFE. PSALM 119:57-64 CONVICTED BY THE WORD URGENTLY PURSUE GOD’S MERCY BY RESPONDING TO THE CONVICTION THAT COMES THROUGH THE WORD OF GOD. God’s Goodness PSALM 119:65-72 GOD’S GOODNESS 1. The Fact: God is good to His servants. 65 2. The Request: Lord, teach me discernment and Your truth because You are the source of good. 66-68 GOD’S GOODNESS 3. The Affliction: In their pride and apathy, people oppose God by attacking those who are committed and delight in God’s truth. 69-70 4. The Conclusion: God’s goodness places affliction in my life to drive me to understand and value God’s truth. 71-72 GOD’S GOODNESS PLACES ME IN THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF LIFE THAT DRIVE ME TO UNDERSTAND AND VALUE GOD AND HIS TRUTH. ALLOW THE HARD OF LIFE TO POINT YOU TO THE REALITY OF GOD AND HIS TRUTH! BELIEVE GOD’S GOODNESS IN YOUR HARD WILL DRAW YOU INTO GREATER RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD. APPLICATION 1. Recognize that what you view as good may be different than what God views as good. We often view good as comfort and what solves all my problems. God views good as that which draws me closer to him. APPLICATION 2. The opposition against God that you face is God’s goodness intended to teach you about God and to value His truth. How does this work? 3. Identify what lies about God’s goodness do you find yourself believing? APPLICATION 4. Allow the conflict in your relationships whether at work or within your family help you understand who God is and value His truth. Ask yourself what can I learn about the character of God? Am I reflecting that character in how I am acting? What truth is necessary to believe to respond correctly? What theology do I need to make sure I BELIEVE GOD’S GOODNESS IN YOUR HARD WILL DRAW YOU INTO GREATER RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
