Intro: When we see today’s text we see that God calls the ordinary to do the extraordinary. We will see this in the call of the ordinary and the commission to the extraordinary. As we do every Sunday night, please stand as we honor the reading of God’s Word.
Matthew 10:1-4.
Verse 1-Giving them authority he had.
Verses 2-4

Disciples
Peter, Andrew, James John-Fishermen
Matthew tax collector
Simon-Zealot
What this means for teens
God can use them regardless of who they are
Transition: So we see that Jesus had called these men to go out with his power and authority. But what were they called to do.
Matthew 10:5-15.
Verses 5-6
First to the Jew then to the gentile
Book of Acts
Romans 1:16.
Jesus was the Jewish Messiah. The world would be blessed through Israel.
Verse 7
Proclaim the Kingdom
Our main mission and most important..
Verse 8a
How the Kingdom proclamation would be backed up
Verse 8b
The gifts were gifts and to be used as gifts.
Not a mandate for mondern day ministry, but a guardrail.
Verse 9-10
God would provide what they need, not asceticism
A step of faith to be followed today.
Verses 11-13
Find the people of peace.
Works in schools as well.
Verses 14-15
The price of rejecting the message of the gospel is severe
Jesus didn’t send them to people who had no idea who God was. Association with the things of God is no substitute for relationship with God.
Conclusion: Let me ask you tonight, if your heart or your attitude towards Jesus was represented as one of these homes, is it accepting or rejecting the good news of the kingdom. If you are rejecting, take tonight to accept. Or have your
