Introduction
Hello, this is Kenneth, and welcome to Dwell.
Today is Saturday, March 8th. Thanks for joining us for today's Dwell Kids Daily.
Thanks for joining us for The Melodic Line for Kids.
For the next few minutes, I invite you to join me as we look to our Great King by opening our hearts to hear from Him through the words of the Bible.
Silence
As we begin, let us remember that God calls His people, young and old, to be still and know that He is God. Let's take a few seconds to clear our minds, so that we can hear him better.
Opening Prayer‌ Father in heaven, your way is pure and your words are perfect. Remind us today that you are a shield for all those who take refuge in you.
Passage
Today our passage is from Paul’s letter to the Roman Christians, chapter 10 verse 9 (ESV)
Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Exhortation
Salvation is deliverance and healing. You may hear this word, "salvation", all the time in the Bible or in the church. It is important to always remember what it means. In Matthew 1, Joseph names his new son Jesus. In the original language Jesus (Yeshua) means Yahweh's salvation. Joseph named him "Jesus" because he will save his people from their sins. Did you catch that? Jesus is the Lord's salvation, he's coming to save. In the gospel of Luke, Jesus said that he came to seek and save the lost. Paul tells Timothy that King Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
When God saves his people, he rescues, or delivers, them from a bad situation and then heals them. Think of the exodus. When Yahweh saves his people, he rescues them from slavery in Egypt, but then he takes them to his mountain where he gives them his loving laws. When God saves us, he delivers us and then begins to heal our brokenness.  You see, we are sinners. All of us. We are in bondage to sin. We are slaves. Our hearts are sick with rebellion. We need to be saved, and we can't save ourselves. Without salvation, we are doomed to die in our sins.
‌ In our passage today, Paul says that if we are to be saved, delivered and healed, We must confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead.
Before we go further, let us marvel that God has made away for us to be saved! He is good and his loyal love has not left us in bondage to sin and death. Hallelujah!
This salvation comes in Jesus. In him, only in him, can we be delivered and healed. But who is Jesus? He is the Lord, the God of the exodus. He is our saving King. With our mouths we proclaim his saving reign over our lives. Now, Jesus said that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. What’s in the heart, comes out of the mouth. The mouth and the heart are connected. This is why Paul says that we don’t just say that Jesus is our Saving King, but we also must believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead. He died on the cross to rescue us from sin, he rose from the dead to deliver us from death, and now he sits on his saving throne. To receive God’s salvation, Jesus wants all of you. He doesn’t only want your mouth, meaning you can’t just say he’s Lord, he also wants your whole heart. Those who have truly received his salvation live their lives under his saving kingship.
Call to Action Let’s take a moment to marvel at God’s great lovingkindness found in his Saving Son.
Closing Prayer‌ Let’s pray together.
Father, we believe with our whole hearts that Jesus is the risen Lord of life and light. He is the Deliverer and Healer of all who call on his name. By your Spirit, continue to heal our hearts. Write your loving laws on them so that we can flourish in loyal obedience to King Jesus. We pray this in his saving Name. Amen.
Outro
It's been great to be with you today.
Tomorrow, we'll be in Matthew chapter 21. Until then, go in peace, and let the word of King Jesus dwell in you richly.
Now, go in peace and let the word of King Jesus dwell in you richly.
