Speaking of smiling I remember visiting her in a new place and she didn't quite recognize who I was. Then all of a sudden her face lit up, her eyes sparkled, she smiled and shouted, You are my minister!

Through the narrative on the 7 churches we see many problems that the church faces today.

From turning from loving Christ to other things or from sound doctrine to worthless debates, From becoming mezmarized by inmorality or just being so indifferent and lacking passion that you loose all usefulness we see the challenges for the church remain the same throug the generations.

A wise Pasotor once told me to read through the 7 churches, that is the first 3 chapters of the Book of Revleation and ask a simple question, If our church was filled with worshipers just like you, which church would we be?

No matter the wrong doing or the sin described in these chapters the solution is simple yet hard. The solution is to repent. That is to turn away from the disctrations to the one who stands at the door a knocks.

The one who stands at the door and knocks is Jesus and He is the way the truth and the life.

Rose heard a knock. It may not have been shave and hair cut two bits but when she opened the door she found Jesus. She repented of her sins and embraced the truth. If Rose were here today I have no doubt she would tell you to listen for the knock, and make sure you open the door. No doubt with a smile.
