Obituary
It’s been a tough few weeks hasn’t it. Last night, i was reading my Bible, Praying for God’s direction for today. I looked over at my wife Holding our newborn or 3 weeks, and I couldn’t help but think about the life that I lived. The Life that was filled with family reunions, with visiting the homes of all of my Great Uncles and Aunts, and feeling a sense of safety because i never felt alone. Why? Because i felt like everywhere i went, i saw familiar faces, I saw family.
To Aunt Janet, to her brothers and sisters, Family was everything. It never mattered how far I went, when i saw Aunt Janet, she knew where i had been, then journeys that i had endeavored upon.
As i read comments on all of the shared obituaries, I saw the same thing. Countless testimonies of Aunt Janet’s heart for people. She was never too busy for any one of us.
I know i’m not here to preach today, Bro. David is much more equipped for that, but on behalf of those of this generation, and those of them who have gone before us. Let us not become to busy, to distant, or to proud to remember our family.
