Thanksgiving is this week….
Thanksgiving is this week….
-Saved I was in literal panic I thought I was going to have a vegan gluten free thanksgiving
-Pumpkin Pie or Sweet Potato Pie
-Macys Thanksgiving day parade
-Cowboys (Cough…) We might actually win one
I want to speak on how we can make this day great.
Its easy to be grateful and thankful but it takes everything to be gratefull and thankfull.
(I am not talking about your wasteline)
When you are Gratefull you live out James 1:2
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds,
It didn’t say count it some as joy…. ALL of it!
-Storms, Family, Hard seasons…
Thankfull means you understand the source of where everything comes from!
yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.
Be Gratefull: Appreciate Everything
Gods Promise to you! If we rely on Him we have everything we need.
Philippians 4:12-13 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
That includes your family!
-They tend to get the worse version of you.
Be Gratefull: Lean on your family.

Before King David was a king he was a family member….
David had a hard relationship with his old brothers.
-He had 7 brothers
Eliab, was the first born: He had a lot of pressure to defeat the philestines
He was mad, about how David was even there asking questions about Goliath
Now Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spoke to the men. And Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said, “Why have you come down? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your presumption and the evil of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.”
How many times do we have family members asking this question. “Who do you think you are?”
While he didn't understand his brother’s opinions, he still loved him.
You know what, there is no where in scripture that shows Eliab asking for forgiveness
We do know what God tells us to do…
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.
David was also betrayed by Absalom (David’s Son)
Absalom was like Simba and Just couldn’t wait to be king…
-Out of his immaturity, he tried forcing David out of his throne.
and was successful
-War took place between Absalom and David. (Thanksgiving probably looked a little different that year)
-David’s men killed Absalom and David wept
It was told Joab, “Behold, the king is weeping and mourning for Absalom.” So the victory that day was turned into mourning for all the people, for the people heard that day, “The king is grieving for his son.” And the people stole into the city that day as people steal in who are ashamed when they flee in battle.
Today you might be on either side, you could have been betrayed or betrayed…
There is no situation that is too big to have a moment like this, What are you going to do with the time you have here on earth?
BE Thankfull: Thank God for the Blessings
It’s easy for us to get in a rythym and forget to thank God!
We need to not celebrate Thanksgiving we need to have Thanksliving.
Jesus- taught us by example on being ThankFull.
Then Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion on the crowd because they have been with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way.” And the disciples said to him, “Where are we to get enough bread in such a desolate place to feed so great a crowd?” And Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” They said, “Seven, and a few small fish.” And directing the crowd to sit down on the ground,
Jesus was proud of this group of people! They were spiritually hungry and he knew they were getting physically hungry.
The issue was they only had seven loafs and a few small fish…
he took the seven loaves and the fish, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds.
What did he do first before the blessing??
-Being Thankfull is giving Thanks to God before the miracle…
You may feel lacking… but Give Thanks
Jesus felt so confident in the miracle he gave thanks through it.
Tiff and I story about “Contentment”

Prayer: My prayer is that this week you would see the contentment found in Jesus.
