The Narrow Gate
The Narrow Gate
Why is the way narrow?
John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 10:9 “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.” (See Acts 4:12)
See 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 and Mark 1:15...
Romans 10:9 “because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Why is the way hard?
Luke 9:23 “And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”
John 16:33 “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”” (See 2 Timothy 3:12)
The narrow gate leads to life.
John 17:3 “And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”
Those who find it are few.
Matthew 22:14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.””
The Wide Gate
The Wide Gate
Why is the way wide?
See Romans 3:23, Romans 3:10, Genesis 6:5...
See Galatians 1:6-9 and 2 Corinthians 11:3-4...
Why is the way easy?
Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”
John 10:1 ““Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber.”
The wide gate leads to destruction.
See Romans 6:23...
Revelation 20:15 “And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.”
Those who enter by it are many.
Luke 13:23–24 “And someone said to him, “Lord, will those who are saved be few?” And he said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.”
How will we respond?
Deuteronomy 30:19 “I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse. Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live,”
2 Corinthians 6:2 “For he says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
