26 “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. 27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
When the Helper or Comforter
par-ak'-lay-tos; an intercessor, consoler:—advocate, comforter
4 times in this span of time Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit as the comforter
I was curious about this Word intercessor and I only found it used in the same way 4 times in scripture
Prayer, petition, or entreaty in favor for another
Intercession is used 3 times
But intercessor is only used once that I saw in
Isaiah 59:19
Now I want to get some context here so we’ll turn to
15 So truth fails,
And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.
Then the Lord saw it, and it displeased Him
That there was no justice.
16 He saw that there was no man,
And wondered that there was no intercessor;
Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him;
And His own righteousness, it sustained Him.
The Lord was displeased with injustice
He was displeased that everyone was doing their own thing
He was displeased at all the selfishness and the corruption
As much as in the church as there was in among the gentiles and Heathens
He saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor
A commentary I was reading said:
There was no man to render assistance to the Church and God was amazed by it
Not in a good WAY
There was no one there to apply their hand to the wound
No matter all the promises
No matter the prophecies
No matter the repetition of God’s assurance to His people
No one was willing to get their hands dirty and stop the bleeding
They were good at pretending and acting Holy, they projected their Holiness on you
But God searched the earth diligently and found no one righteous
WE don’t have to look very far to find people who talk about being obedient
But actually finding people who are willing to be about it is a different story
Are you willing to get a little blood on your hands to stop the bleeding?
Let’s go Back to John
27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.
Because I was with you I had all the answers for you
Goin on a trip when your young with your Parents:
You just did what they did
But it was a proximity thing
You knew what they wanted to do because they told you
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.
To your advantage that I go away:

The Spirit is multiplication cuase you don’t have to wait on ME
You know what I love hearing as a Pastor, What God is speaking to YOU
IT’s still a proximity thing
As a group of people, Can we listen to where God wants to take us
Instead of reacting to where the world has brought us
He Holy Spirit revealing unto us the things of God
18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,
Be being filled
Continuously
You’re not filled until your overflowing
20 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
It’s still a proximity thing
