The Witnessing
God has called all who have heard, seen, and been equipped to be His witnesses.
1. You are called to be a witness to all that the Father has revealed through His Word.(v.4,-5-7)
God has revealed in His Word that there must be More than One Witness
TWO OR THREE WITNESSES INTIMATES THE TRINITY. AUGUSTINE: It is a huge question, my brothers, and to me it certainly appears to be a mystery when God says, “In the mouth of two or three witnesses, let every word be established.” … It is possible, however, that two witnesses may lie. The chaste Susannah was arraigned by two false witnesses.… The whole people spoke against Christ falsely.… How then must we understand the word “By the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established,” except as an intimation of the mystery of the Trinity in which there is a perpetual stability of truth? Do you wish to have a good cause? Have two or three witness: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.… Receive our testimony then [the Trinity says], otherwise you will feel our judgment.… I delay my judgment, [Jesus says]. I do not delay my testimony.
2. You are called to be a witness to all you have seen Jesus accomplish in the fulfillment of His Word. (v.9-11)
25 He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26 Wasn’t it necessary for the Messiah to suffer these things and enter into his glory?” 27 Then beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted for them the things concerning himself in all the Scriptures.

3. You are called to be a witness to the power of the Holy Spirit, equipping you to believe and obey His Word. (v. 4,8)
(v. ) Wait for the Father’s Promise
44 He told them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45 Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. 46 He also said to them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead the third day, 47 and repentance for forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 And look, I am sending you what my Father promised. As for you, stay in the city until you are empowered, from on high.”
