Main Idea

Jesus’ family (or family history) and hence the family/people of God, includes all types of characters- with the exception of Jesus Christ, none having led perfect lives and all being recipients of God’s grace.

Introduction- All In The Family sitcom

"All in the Family" is touted as the series that brought reality to prime-time TV entertainment. The lead character, Archie Bunker, is a loudmouthed, uneducated bigot who believes in every stereotype he has ever heard. His wife, Edith, is sweet but not the sharpest knife in the drawer. They and their daughter, Gloria, and her husband, Mike, all live in a working-class home. Unfortunately for Archie, he can't avoid the people he disdains: His son-in-law -- whom Archie calls "Meathead" -- is an unemployed student and of Polish descent; the Jeffersons next door are black; Edith's cousin Maude is a feminist; and, later, his partners in a local tavern are Jewish.
The show revolves around the life of a working-class man and his family. It broke ground by introducing challenging and complex issues into mainstream network television comedy: racism, antisemitism, infidelity, homosexuality,[3] women's liberation, rape, religion, miscarriages, abortion, breast cancer, the Vietnam War, menopause, and impotence. The series became arguably one of television's most influential comedic programs, as it injected the sitcom format with more dramatic moments and realistic, topical conflicts.
Supporting characters represent the changing demographics of the neighborhood, especially the Jeffersons, a Black family, who live in the house next door in the early seasons and then left the area for the higher end Upper East side of Manhattan after George (the husband) made a fortune with his dry cleaning business. The Jeffersons then rented their home to Gloria and Mike.

Paul is saying, in typically Jewish fashion, that there is an appropriateness in the use of the singular form here, in that the true fulfilment came only in connection with one person, Christ.

Why are the first four of these women included? Suggestions have included viewing them as examples of sinners Jesus came to save, representative Gentiles to whom the Christian mission would be extended, or women who had illicit marriages and/or illegitimate children. The only factor that clearly applies to all four is that suspicions of illegitimacy surrounded their sexual activity and childbearing. This suspicion of illegitimacy fits perfectly with that which surrounded Mary, which Matthew immediately takes pains to refute (vv. 18–25). In fact, the grammar of v. 16 makes clear that Joseph was not the human father of Jesus because the pronoun “whom” is feminine and therefore can refer only to Mary as a human parent of the Christ child.

Transition To Close- Generations From Abraham to Jesus Christ

17 So all the generations from Abraham to David were fourteen generations, and from David to the deportation to Babylon fourteen generations, and from the deportation to Babylon to the Christ fourteen generations.
Usually, we begin with an informal prayer said aloud, asking the Father to gather the dead for whom we are praying, asking for whatever healing we trust will happen during the service; asking that both the dead and their living descendants should receive forgiveness and fullness of life; asking that Satan leave, and asking that the Holy Spirit should compensate for whatever shortcomings there may be in our prayers. Thus we have prepared ourselves for the Eucharist and we are ready for the Lord’s Prayer.
Christ. We are asking in fact that, through his blood represented by the communion wine, Jesus Christ should cleanse the blood lines of the living and the dead of all that blocks healthy life, especially by breaking any hereditary seals and curses and by casting out any evil spirits.
I have usually found that, when the Eucharist does not work as expected, the person concerned is not sincere in forgiving or in loving. The depth of forgiveness must be as great as was the Lord’s in dying for that person. ‘This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins’ (Matt. 26.28).
At the final blessing, the fourth healing stage takes place. We shift our focus away from the needs of the dead and pray essentially for the needs of the living.
It depends upon how much love the dead person needs and how much the living are able to give. The deeper the wound, the more love is needed.
