Ephesian 2:8-10

15 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” 16 The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

In the book Atomic Habits that focuses on creating good disciplines and habits, the writer suggest that when you are trying to pick up a new habit or goal. To not just think about what habit you have to do.

For examples : Gym

I.E. Wake up at 6am

Put on clothes

Drive to the Gym.

Thinking merely like this can be exhausting and your mind gets mentally exhausted thinking about all the additional things it needs to do just go the gym.

But the Author suggest to make those actions and the hurdles more achievable and more likely to accomplish is instead of just thinking about what habit you pick up,

Think about who you want to become.

Instead of thinking you want to start going to the gym.

Think about wanting to be an athlete.

If you wan to start learning an instrument, don’t just think about the fact that you need to practice an hour a day. Think about becoming a Musician.

Because these are things athletes do.

They wake up work out 3-5 a week.

They eat healthy

Practice

Etc.

When you begin to see yourself as this person, then your starting thinking about the things this type of person will do.

Believe What God Said about you.

I know in ruts and and routine of life, it is easy to get distracted.

You just start living for what’s in front of you, and get busy, entertained, and maybe a little misdirected.

I know their school stresses

And emotions that you deal with at different stages of life.

Job, Careers, life trials all can be very real and at the forefront of your mind.

But may I remind you that God has a very real CALLING on your life.

I know that God has told some of you somethings?

I know there’s some of you that God has shared the calling on your life.

But I want to speak to your Spirit today and just remind you that you are a beautiful work of the Lord.

You are his workmanship.

You are His and He is yours.

Choose to believe what He says about you.

You can find complete satisfaction in Him

You can find identity in Him.

You can find Purpose in Him.

You can find Wholeness.

Choose to believe.

Belief is a powerful thing.

What you believe in, will affect your thoughts, your motivations, your perspective and how you see life.

But I say Choose to believe, because there is times where it will come down to a choice.

Your thoughts may try to persuade you another direction.

Your headspace may be in deprived state.

And all you have is a Word.

All you have is a Moment.

All you have is a preaching.

Choose to Believe in Jesus.

John 3:16 ASV

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.

We need the Word and the Spirit:

The Word and the Spirit work together.

The bible, the preachings, the devotionals, They are a revealer of the Will of God.

But the Spirit is what helps you fulfill the will of God.

We need to hear our preachings, and teachings, to sharpen us, build our faith, discern our thoughts and intentions.

Tell us where we should be heading.

What should we be striving after.

It will help us understand what the Will of God is.

It will help us understand what the Character of God is.

It will help you have a concept of Who you are in Him.

But What will make it REAL FOR YOU!

What will seal it in your heart, what will actually do the Work is the Spirit of God working through you.

The Holy Spirit is a Witness. It Testify’s.

Romans 8:15–16 ESV

The Holy Spirit assure you that you are a child of God.

The Spirit of Jesus will make it concrete that you His.

It will show you who you are.

It will change what you can’t change on your own.

It will work in ways that you thought were impossible.

Choose to believe That God can still work in your life!

How do you apply this:

Don’t be satisfied with just hearing a Word, Respond to the Word.

-Respond to the preaching at the Altar.

-Respond to the worship with Worshiping

-Lifting up your hands.

-Believing what the Song is saying.

-Believing that what is happening in this moment is much more than just routine.

This is an opportunity for something miraculous.

Colossians 1:26–27 ESV

26 the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. 27 To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Acts 1:8 ESV

8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

You will be a witness by your walk. Your fruit.

Your boldnes, your integrity.

Your faith.

What God does through you.
