1 Peter 5:2-4

I.          FEED THE FLOCK OF GOD.

            A.             Exclusive to flock you are associated with. i.e. Your local church.

            B.             Not the pastors business to meddle in other churches affairs.

II.            TAKING THE OVERSIGHT. ( επισκοποuντες )

            The Job of the Overseer

            A.             One who sees the responsibility.

            B.            One who has compassion.

C.        Not because he feels pressured, but because he understands the call, in obedience to God.

            D.            Not for eagerness of gain from greediness.

                        1. whether of status.

                        2. money

                        3. position

            E.             Of a ready mind.

            F            Not lording over but an example.

III.            RECEIVING THE UNFADING CROWN OF GLORY.

            A.            When Christ comes.

            B.            As the Chief Shepherd.
