Introduction
I noticed an uptick in articles leading up to November:
7 Tips to a peaceful Thanksgiving dinner
How to avoid politics at the holidays
What to do if “that uncle” shows up
How to disown your family…
Certainly in years where politics is prominent, but even more this year.
A mark of our fallen world is
strife
.
This is not the life we were called to experience.
What this season is to be about… something else.
Hope. Joy. Peace. Love.
Scripture Provides Hope
Hope does not come
naturally
.
Hope and Harmony
correlate
.
One leads to the other.
Worship Follows Hope
True worship comes from
unity
.
Hope Eradicates Strife
Paul here cites both sides.
All Scripture declares the hope of
inclusion
.
This applies to every person in this space.
Advent Emphasizes Hope
True Hope comes from
God
.
Relationship to advent. Because Christ / God came to us.
To experience Hope, turn to
Jesus
.
Conclusion
No situation is truly hopeless.
Jesus is alive, and that changes everything.
