It’s in His Hands
Big Idea: The weight of creation rests on the creator. It alleviates us from putting that weight on ourselves.
Scriptures:
Scriptures:
1 Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is distressed, As when at first He lightly esteemed The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, And afterward more heavily oppressed her, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, In Galilee of the Gentiles.
2 The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.
3 You have multiplied the nation And increased its joy; They rejoice before You According to the joy of harvest, As men rejoice when they divide the spoil.
4 For You have broken the yoke of his burden And the staff of his shoulder, The rod of his oppressor, As in the day of Midian.
5 For every warrior’s sandal from the noisy battle, And garments rolled in blood, Will be used for burning and fuel of fire.
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Introduction:
“It has been said that man can live about forty days without food, about three days without water, and about eight minutes without air—but only one second without HOPE.”
Anonymous
Hope is defined as a feeling of expectation and desire for certain things to happen.
This thing called hope is designed to fulfill us and sustain us in times of spiritual famine. It is a promise that no matter what situation may arise, better is on the way !
Just as a parent gives a lead me on to a hungry child until the full meal is done, Hope nourishes my soul!
Here in the text, God is promising restoration. Vs 2 says:
The people who walked in darkness
Have seen a great light;
Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death,
Upon them a light has shined.
Light represents the antidote to spiritual darkness. In a world where many see hopeless darkness and corruption all around, there is a pronouncement of a brighter future.

Advent definition:
A liturgical season in the Christian calendar leading up to Christmas. It is a time of preparation and reflection on the coming of Christ, both in his Nativity and his anticipated return. Advent typically involves themes of hope, peace, joy, and love.
Advent is designed to show us both the 1st and second coming of Christ. It reminds us during this season when Christ came to save the world. It gives us hope and reassurance that he is going to do it again.

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
