beginnings of death - Gen. 2:17, 3:19
Genesis 2:17 LSB
17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat from it; for in the day that you eat from it you will surely die.”

therefore the cause of death is sin
decay, mortality are not natural parts of creation
