Do not Grow Weary

2 Thessalonians 3:13 “But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.”
One thing you can be sure of is that Satan is not interested in a Christian being active in well doing ! Or being benevolent!
He wants you to be to tired and too discouraged to keep going!
Well doing Should be a characteristic of A Christian because htis is precisely what God expects of His children!

Weariness Develops over Time

Growing Weary means depleting energy or exhaustion… it assumes you start out with energy but over time it depletes.
Gods encouragement in these verse is to not allow our lives to get to the point of spiritual exhaustion.
This is possible when we are not keeping our walk with God Fresh each and everyday.
Remember the verse back in Galatians 5:16 “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.”
Mark 1:35 “And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.”
Lets not ever under estimate the importance of time alone with God! Just a time to quiet our hearts and to consider where we are in life, what we are doing and how we are doing it!
The world we live in is a high paced night mare! Mental health crisis are on the rise and i believe it is in large part due to the physical mental and spiritual exhaustion we face!
Sometimes we need to slow it down and spend time alone with God getting a handle on things!
There are Pressures on every front!
I love that verse in 1 Samuel 9:27 “And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.”
1 Peter 3:17 “For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.”

Weariness Depletes the Spirit!

The point being made by this phrase is that we are to no get to the point of exhaustion or losing heart. Exhaustion and losing heart go together because the spirit is affected by physical exhaustion.
The inner man can be strengthend daily when the body is tired …. Paul Chappell
2 Corinthians 4:16 “For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”

Consider Christ

Hebrews 12:1–3“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.”

Continue on.

1 Corinthians 15:58 “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, un-moveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
“A Vision that is not worthy of sacrifice is not a Christlike vision”

Ye Shall Reap

James 5:7–8 “Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

We Shall Reap Spiritual Growth

James 1:3–4 KJV 1900
Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
“ Many Christians spend six days a week sowing wild oats, then come sunday to church a pray for crop failure!”

We Shall Reap Spiritual Reward

2 Timothy 4:7–8 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

We Shall Reap Souls of Men

Proverbs 11:30 (KJV 1900)
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life And he that winneth souls is wise.

If We Faint Not

Fainting … means to “let up in the end”
Letting up can be caused from spiritual burnout… Constantly being in a battle that you often make worse!
It could be that you and I are naturally will get beaten down but we must endure to the end!

We Must not faint in the end!

Judges 8:4 KJV 1900
And Gideon came to Jordan, and passed over, he, and the three hundred men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them.
2 Corinthians 4:15–18 KJV 1900
For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Conclusion: Everyone of us gets tired, its a part of life. But when we are tired its not a sign we need to give up and take a nap! But our strength needs to be renewed. Its only in the Lord that we can truly renew our strength. Our hope is in the Lord, its through him that we can gain the daily nourishment and strength to continue on.
Isaiah 40:31 (KJV 1900)
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles; They shall run, and not be weary; And they shall walk, and not faint.
