Bethel Bible School: In 1900, Parham founded Bethel Bible School in Topeka, Kansas, where students studied the Bible intensively. Parham emphasized personal holiness, faith healing, and a deep focus on the Holy Spirit. Speaking in Tongues: On January 1, 1901, one of his students, Agnes Ozman, reportedly spoke in tongues after Parham taught that this was the evidence of being baptized in the Holy Spirit. This event is considered a major milestone in the birth of modern Pentecostalism. Apostolic Faith Movement: Parham promoted the idea of speaking in tongues as the "initial evidence" of Spirit baptism, a cornerstone belief for many Pentecostal denominations.
