“ ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams;
even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.
And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
Pray for understanding of what the Spirit of Christ is, the role of the Spirit in us, and how to walk in the Spirit.
There are four Specific instances that speak of the outpouring of the Spirit of God in Scripture
Jesus Christ the same Yesterday Today and Forever
Heb 13:8 describes a Christ who is unchanging from the beginning
He shows us what would be needed from us as He walked the earth.
Luke 3 shows Jesus being God in human form;
Baptized in water (into the body)
Baptized by the Holy Spirit
Begins His ministry
Jesus God from the beginning is unchanging yet He exemplifies what each human being will go through
Until the fullness of the Spirit is received one cannot operate in the power of the age to come.
We are the people whom it was spoken of… We will carry His Spirit and We will prophecy… We will see Visions… We will dream dreams…
But in order to do this we must learn to be filled of the Spirit as we walk in every facet of the Spirit.
If we intend to operate in the things of the age to come we must learn to walk in the fullness of the Spirit of God
If we intend to operate in the things of the age to come we must learn to walk in the fullness of the Spirit of God
Until Christ…
Until Christ…
The Spirit of God would descend on people as needed…
Remember there is a veil in temple that separated Humanity from the all Holy God.
Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
In John 7 Jesus is explaining to those who believe in Him His divine nature and oneness with God
I come from the very essence of God… I and the Father are one… Refutes any thought that would declare there was a time Jesus was not… or that the Spirit was not…
As we receive Jesus and drink of Him we are then porters of His Spirit and from our Hearts should flow what comes from the Son which are living waters… our hearts will become wells of living water
This could only happen if we have access to the Holy Spirit or the Spirit of God.
Up until this point humanity did not have access to this Spirit it was only given as needed… notice… “As of yet the Spirit had not been given because Jesus was not yet glorified…”
Jesus is the only begotten of the Father…
He was not created
Never a time when He did not exist
He is creator of all things
In Him is the Spirit of the Living God
He is the Giver of the Holy Spirit
none can come to the Father except through Him
none can receive the Holy Spirit except through Him
In the Waiting…
In the Waiting…
According to scripture we have not received a gospel just in Word and Deed… but one Full of the Power of the Holy Spirit… and the full Conviction we bear…
We must be full of the Holy Spirit to operate in this type of Power
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
The promise of Jesus Christ that we would receive power
not for ourselves
not for just our local region
to all the world until the end of this age…
The remainder of the accounts in the book of Acts tell of how a people
Believe in Jesus Christ
Baptized into the Body of Christ
Baptized by the Holy Spirit
Filled with the Spirit then function in the Fullness of what Christ has intended..
Fullness of the Spirit of Christ
Fullness of the Spirit of Christ
“And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. “ ‘I know your works. You have the reputation of being alive, but you are dead.
According to Rev 1 this Jesus holds the 7 spirits of God in Him
That is these are the 7 spirits of God which are sent to (not just one person but to all the Earth)
This is the image we see in the baptism of Jesus
the heavens open
We hear the Father Speaking
We see the Holy Spirit descending in bodily form
We Jesus the Son receiving the Holy Spirit
This is the Image we see in the Ascension
the heavens open
the Son ascending having been glorified
The Son giving the Holy Spirit
These 7 spirits are the fullness of the Spirit of Christ we must function in…
You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him.
But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
The Spirit of Christ must dwell in us
