1 Peter 5:1
I. THERE IS A SPECIAL SIGNIFICANCE TO THE ELDERSHIP.
A. Peter was an Apostle.
B. Peter was one of the twelve.
C. He makes a point to bring forth the info regarding his eldership.
II. THERE IS MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING IN THE WORK.
A. The witness of the sufferings of Christ & our part in it.
The word witness is translated from the Greek μαρτυς. We derive our English word martyr from it. (One who’s life and actions testify to the worth and effect of faith, and who’s faith received witness in scripture. Vines)
B. The blessings of the glory that awaits.
