6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

I. NO LIGHT NO PEACE
I. NO LIGHT NO PEACE
1 Nevertheless the gloom will not be upon her who is distressed, As when at first He lightly esteemed The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, And afterward more heavily oppressed her, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, In Galilee of the Gentiles.
THE LORD WAS SENDING JUDGMENT TO THE PEOPLE BECAUSE OF THEIR DISREGARD FOR HIM AND HIS WORD.
THE EFFECTS OF THE JUDGMENT IS DESCRIBED IN VERSES 21 AND 22.
21 They will pass through it hard-pressed and hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry, that they will be enraged and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
THE “THEY” IN VERSE 21 ARE THE PEOPLE WHO CHOSE

THEY PEOPLE WOULD BE
HARD-PRESSED AND HUNGRY
PROBABLY BECAUSE OF THE ASSYRIAN SEIGE ON THEM
WHEN HUNGRY THEY WILL BE ENRAGED AND
CURSE THEIR KING AND THEIR GOD.
THE WILL LOOK UP
AND IN VERSE 22
22 Then they will look to the earth, and see trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they will be driven into darkness.
THEY WILL LOOK DOWN
NO MATTER WERE THEY LOOK THEY WILL SEE
TROUBLE
DARKNESS
AND GLOOM OF ANGUISH
THE PEOPLE WILL BE DRIVEN INTO DARKNESS BECAUSE THEY REJECTED THE LIGHT.
WHAT LIGHT IS THE LIGHT?
THE WORD OF GOD IS A LIGHT
THE WORD OF GOD IS A LIGHT
LOOK AT VERSE 20
20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

HE ALSO TESTIFIED THAT GOD’S WORD IS A LAMP TO HIS FEET AND A LIGHT TO HIS PATH.
GOD’S WORD ENLIGHTENS THE EYES SO THAT WE CAN SEE (Ps 19:8)
THIS IS WHY THE LORD MOVED ISAIAH WITH THIS MESSAGE
THE MEDIUMS CAME WITH
SOME FALSE VISIONS AND NOT THE LAW
NO LIGHT IS IN THE FAKE VISIONS
THE SPIRITIST CAME WITH
SOME OMENS AND SIGNS BUT NOT THE BIBLE
NO LIGHT IS IN THOSE SIGNS
THEY DID NOT COME WITH
GOD’S COMMANDS
GOD’S TESTIMONY
NO WORD NO LIGHT
NO WORD NO LIGHT
WHAT ABOUT YOU? DO YOU HAVE THE LIGHT OF GOD’S WORD IN YOU?
BECAUSE
WITHOUT LIGHT THEY HAVE NO RESTRAINTS
WITHOUT LIGHT THEY HAVE NO RESTRAINTS
18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law.
ARE YOU STILL
Crafty and Cunning
Shifty and Shady
Double dealing and Dishonest
Wretched and Wicked
Rotten and Reprehensible
ARE YOU LIVING WITHOUT THE RESTRAINTS OF THE WORD?
ARE YOU GREEDY
CORRUPTED
PRIDEFUL AND
SELFISHNESS
NO LIGHT WE HAVE NO PEACE
NO LIGHT WE HAVE NO PEACE
NO PEACE
WITH GOD
NO HARMONY
WITH THE SAINTS
NO PEACE
WITHIN YOUR SELF

The Assyrians would invade THE NORTHERN KINGDOM STARTING THE LAND OF ZEBULUN AND NAPHTALI
THE HEAVY OPPRESSION WAS REVEALED IN THAT THEY WOULD BE CAPTURED AND REMOVED FROM THE LAND
THE LAND OF GALILEE IN THE NORTH WAS THEN INHABITED BY TRANSPLANTS (ASSYRIANS) WHICH ARE GENTILES
YET, Isaiah looked beyond this time of punishment and saw a bright deliverance.
2 The people who walked in darkness Have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in the land of the shadow of death, Upon them a light has shined.
JESUS IS THE GREAT LIGHT THAT WOULD SHINE AND DID SHINE
LOOK AT MATTHEW 4:14-16
14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
15 “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles:
16 The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.”
JESUS FULFILLED THIS PROMISE
WHY? BECAUSE HE IS THE
CAPTIAN OVER CALAMITIES
HE HAS BROKEN THE YOKE OF BURDEN
BECAUSE JESUS IS THE
AUTHORITY OVER ADVERSITIES
HE HAS BROKEN THE ROD OF HIS OPPRESSOR
BECAUSE JESUS IS THE
MASTER OVER MISFORTUNES
HE HAS BROKEN THE STAFF OF HIS SHOULDER
BECAUSE JESUS IS THE
LORD OVER LETDOWNS
BECAUSE JESUS IS THE
KING OVER CHAOS
BECAUSE
THE KINGDOM OF GOD HAS COME
THE KINGDOM OF GOD HAS COME
17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
NOW WE KNOW THE CHARACTER OF THE KINGDOM

21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”
BELIEVERS ARE PLACED IN THE KINGDOM BY CHRIST’S SACRIFICE
12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.
13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

IN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
14 For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,
16 and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.
WE WERE ENEMIES OF GOD
WE WERE ALIENATED FROM GOD
WE WERE CONDEMNED BY GOD
YES, We were enemies of God
But now we are friends of God
YES, We were alienated from God
But now we are nigh to Him by the blood of His cross
YES, We were condemned by the Law
But now we are freed by His grace

IN OUR RELATIONSHIPS WITH ALL SAINTS
17 And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.
19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

COMFORT THAT NEVER CEASES
PEACE THAT NEVER PANICS
NOT A HOLLOW HALLELUJAH
NOT AN EMPTY PRAISE
NOT A VOID THANKS
NOT JUST SAYING SOMETHING
MY PRAISE IS BUILT ON HIS WORD
MY THANKS IS BUILT ON HIS PROMISES
