1. The Promised King Isaiah 9:6
His Character
A. Wonderful Counselor
B. Mighty God
C. Everlasting Father (The father of Eternity)
Imagine a world where might equals compassion. In Isaiah 9:6, Jesus is described as the 'Mighty God.' He doesn't wield his power to dominate, but rather to serve and save. This challenges our perception of strength; true strength lies in using our power for the benefit of others, just as Christ did throughout His life.
D. Prince of Peace
I invite you to embrace Jesus as our source of perfect peace amid a troubled world
2. The Promised Kingdom Isaiah 9:7
2. The Promised Kingdom Isaiah 9:7
A. A Pervasive & Righteousness Kingdom
Throughout history, kings have often demanded loyalty and fear. However, when we look to Jesus, the promised King, we see a ruler who served rather than ruled. He washed His disciples' feet and laid down His life. His reign is characterized by love, grace, and an invitation to serve alongside Him. This prompts us to ask, in what ways are we embracing our role as servants in His kingdom?
How does the character of Jesus in this passage encourage or challenge you?
What does it mean to you to be a servant in Jesus' kingdom, rather than seeking to rule your own life?
How can you actively embrace your role as a servant in Jesus' kingdom this week?
