Have you ever had something so good happen to you that you just couldn't keep quiet about it? That you couldnt hold your peace? You was supposed to keep it to yourself, but you had to call Shelia or Mike to give them the good news about what has transpired in your life? Maybe it was a promotion at work, the birth of a child, or good news from a doctor. Sometimes joy on the inside is so powerful that it has to come out. Sometimes its so good all you can do is “shout.” And that’s just what I want to talk to you about this morning. “The power of a shout.” A shout isn’t just a loud noise; it’s an expression of joy, victory, and confidence. A shout isn’t just a noise—it’s a declaration. It’s a weapon. It’s an expression of gratitude and victory. When we shout unto God, we’re telling the world, the enemy, and even ourselves that we’ve got a reason to rejoice. It’s that sound that comes from deep within, and it carries a message that something amazing has happened or is about to happen. In our walk with God, we’ve got every reason to shout! If you’ve been redeemed, set free, healed, delivered, or blessed in any way, then you my friend, have got a reason to shout.
Now, I know we Baptists can be reserved sometimes, but let me remind you that shouting has always been a part of worship. I know I’m guilty sometimes, but I also know I’m not the only one. Something will have transpire in my life this last week, but I will show up to worship on Sunday morning and sit back on some praise. I’ll clap my hands, but I ain’t moving from this seat, and I under no circumstances will run these ailes.
Some of us might think shouting is unnecessary. “I’m more of a quiet worshiper,” you might say. But let me remind you that throughout Scripture, shouting is a response to God’s greatness and power. David danced before the Lord with all his might and shouted for joy. Joshua and the Israelites brought down the walls of Jericho with a shout. when Jesus rode into Jerusalem, the people shouted, “Hosanna in the highest!”
When Joshua led the Israelites to conquer Jericho, the walls didn’t fall until they shouted (Joshua 6:20).
When David brought the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem, he danced and shouted with all his might (2 Samuel 6:14-15).
Even in heaven, the angels and saints lift their voices in shouts of praise to the Lamb of God (Revelation 7:10).
Shouting isn’t about making noise for the sake of noise. It’s about proclaiming victory, honoring God, and celebrating His goodness. So if you’ve got breath in your body today, then you’ve got a reason to shout! I'm shouting because he woke me up this morning, and he started me on my way. I’m shouting because God has been good to me.  A shout can shift the atmosphere. A shout can confuse the enemy. A shout can bring down walls that have been standing for years.  I'm shouting because God has given me the victory over that sickness I've been battling for all this time. I'm shouting because God finally opened that door that I have been praying for every night when I got down on m knees every night. I'm shouting because God finally gave me the strength to walk away from that very thing that was hurting me. I'm shouting because he gave me the wherewithal to run on a little while despite the obstacles int front of me…. I’m trying to figure out why yal still sitting in these seats…. God’s in the room, I’ve got breath in my body, I'm being seen and not viewed… I’VE GOT A REASON TO SHOUT!!!!
Let me calm myself down, I gotta make it through this little message. I’m getting too happy too soon. But if I’m going to shout, I’m going to shout for a reason.  I'm going to shout because of who God is, what God has done, what God is doing, and what God will do.
Point 1: Shout Because of Who God Is
If I'm going to shout, I'm going to shout simply because of “Who God Is.” Psalm 47 begins with a command to shout because God is awesome. He is the King of all the earth! He begins this by telling us to “clap your hands, all ye people; Shout unto God with a voice of triumph.” Now, what reasons do I have to shout like this? I'm going to shout because God is sovereign. God is holy, and God is Good. Now I see how you looking at me, you’re sitting on the edge of your seat. You are anticipating me to tell you how He is sovereign, holy, and good… Aye. I got you.
Watch this. Our God is Sovereign. When we shout because of who God is, we’re acknowledging His sovereignty. Sovereignty means that God is in full control—He rules over everything. He spoke the universe into existence. He upholds all things by His power. When life gets chaotic, God is still in control. He is not shaken by our circumstances. Genesis 1 says that God spoke, and the universe came into existence. He said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. That same voice that spoke the stars into being , is the same God who holds your life in the palm of His hands. His Authority Is Absolute: Isaiah 46:9-10 reminds us, “I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning.” No matter what you’re facing, God is still on the throne. When you feel like your life is spinning out of control, and all hell has broken loose, remember this: God is still in control. He is not shaken by your storm. He is not caught off guard by your situation. He is still on the throne! Have you ever been in a situation where it seemed like everything was falling apart? Bills due, relationships strained, health failing. But somehow, you made it. That “somehow” was God’s sovereignty at work. When you realize that the God we serve is ordering your steps, that’s your reason to shout!
God Is Holy: There is none like Him. He is perfect, righteous, and pure. His holiness demands reverence, but it also invites us to worship with awe and joy. The holiness of God is so profound that the angels around His throne cry out day and night, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty” (Isaiah 6:3). Holiness Sets Him Apart: God’s holiness means He is perfect, pure, and unlike anyone else. It’s what makes Him worthy of our highest praise. Holiness Inspires Worship: When we consider God’s holiness, we can’t help but shout in awe and reverence. The psalmist said, “Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth” (Psalm 96:9). When you recognize God’s holiness, you realize He is perfect in all His ways. Every "no" He gave you was for your good. Every delay in your life had a divine purpose. His holiness means He makes no mistakes. That’s a reason to shout!
God Is Good: The goodness of God is not just a characteristic—it’s who He is. His goodness is constant. Even when we don’t understand His ways, we can trust His heart. Psalm 100:5 says, “For the Lord is good, and his love endures forever. His faithfulness continues through all generations.” Even when life is hard, God is good. He doesn’t change, and His goodness is always present. When we reflect on His goodness, our hearts can’t help but shout with gratitude. Think about all the times when you didn’t deserve God’s grace, but He gave it to you anyway. All the times He spared you from danger, provided for you, and carried you through. His goodness never runs out. That’s a reason to shout!

Point 2: Shout Because of What God Has Done

If you’re struggling to find your shout, take a moment to remember what God has already done in your life. He has saved us, He provides for us, He protects us. The greatest reason to shout is our salvation. Romans 5:8 says, "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were yet  still sinners, Christ died for us." Think about the cross! Jesus bore your sin, your shame, and your punishment. He took what you deserved and gave you what you could never earn—eternal life. If you’ve been redeemed, you’ve got a reason to shout!

He Saved Us

The greatest reason to shout is our salvation.
The Weight of Sin: Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Every one of us was destined for eternal separation from God.
The Gift of Grace: But Romans 6:23 reminds us, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Jesus took our place on the cross, bore our sin, and paid the price for our freedom.
A New Identity: 2 Corinthians 5:17 declares, “If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” When you think about where God brought you from and who you are now because of Him, you’ve got a reason to shout! Take a moment to think about where you would be if it weren’t for Jesus. Some of us would be dead. Some of us would be locked up. Some of us would be lost in addiction, depression, or hopelessness. But God reached down, pulled you out, and gave you a second chance. That’s a reason to shout!
He Provides for Us:
God is not just our Savior; He’s also our Provider. Think about the times when you didn’t know how you’d make it, but God showed up. He provided the resources, the opportunities, and the strength you needed. Philippians 4:19 says, “My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.” When you look back over your life, you’ll see God’s hand of provision—times when He made a way out of no way, opened doors no man could shut, and blessed you beyond measure. God sometimes provides supernatural blessings. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus tells us, “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” When you prioritize God, He takes care of everything else. Sometimes God provides miraculously, and other times, He provides through people. Either way, it’s still God. Provision isn't just financial. It’s emotional, mental, and spiritual. He gives you peace, strength, and wisdom. Think of the times God made a way when you couldn’t see one. Bills got paid. Food showed up. The car kept running longer than it should have. That’s a reason to shout!
He Protects Us:
The Bible is full of promises of God’s protection. When you go home read Psalm 91: This psalm assures us that God is our refuge and fortress. There in verse 4 David tells us that “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge”. Think about your personal testimonies. Have you ever been driving and something told you to slow down? Have you ever seen danger come near but it didn’t touch you? How many times has God protected you from dangers you didn’t even see coming? Think of the battles He fought for you, the dangers He’s shielded you from, and the enemies He’s defeated on your behalf. When the enemy tried to destroy you, God stepped in and said, “Not today!” If that doesn’t make you shout, I don’t know what will!
Point 3: Shout Because of What God Is Doing
Shouting isn’t just about the past; it’s also about recognizing what God is doing right now. In the now, He is with us, He’s working it out for our good, and He is answering prayers.
He Is With Us:
God’s presence is our greatest comfort. Matthew 28:20 says, “And lo, I am with you always, to the very end of the  world. Amen.” God’s presence is our greatest gift. Even in the valley of the shadow of death, He is there. You’re never alone, he provides peace in the Storm: No matter what you’re going through, God’s presence gives you peace. Philippians 4:7 says, “The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” God is present with you in your loneliness, in your heartbreak, and in your confusion. He is not a distant God. When people call me and talk about their struggles, and even during the triumphs. “In the midst of it all.. God is there.”

He Is Working All Things for Good

Even when we can’t see it, God is working behind the scenes. Romans 8:28: This verse reminds us that “in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” That means every trial, every heartache, and every setback in life is being used for a divine purpose. Trusting His Plan. When you trust that God is working for your good, you can shout in advance of your breakthrough. Even when we can’t see it, God is orchestrating every detail of our lives for His glory and our good. When you cant see his plan, you can trust his heart.

He Is Answering Prayers

Prayer is powerful, and God hears every word we speak to Him. Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” Every time you’ve cried out to God in faith, He has heard you. He may not answer the way you expect, but He always answers according to His perfect will. How many of you can testify that God heard your cry and answered you? Even when you don't see it, God is working on your behalf. If you’ve ever had a prayer answered, that’s a reason to shout!

Point 4: Shout Because of What God Will Do
Finally, church, we shout because we have hope for the future. He will return, He will reward the faithful, and He will defeat evil.

He Will Return

Jesus is coming back! It was prophesied in Revelation 19:11-16. It describes Jesus returning as King of kings and Lord of Lords. It is declared that he will ride in on a white horse, ready to establish His eternal kingdom. He’s coming back to make all things new. When Jesus returns, all suffering, death, and evil will be defeated. With it, The End of Suffering: Revelation 21:4 promises, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.” Knowing that Jesus is coming back should give you hope, joy, and peace. That’s a reason to shout!
He Will Reward the Faithful:
2 Timothy 4:8 promises a crown of righteousness for those who long for His appearance. Every sacrifice you made, every tear you cried, and every act of obedience will be rewarded in eternity. It’s all being recorded.  God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). I sought after the Lord, so I shall seek my reward. Nothing you do for God is in vain. When you stand before Him, you’ll hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21).
He Will Defeat Evil
Revelation 20:10 tells us that one day, the devil will be thrown into the lake of fire. No more sickness, no more suffering, no more death. There will be no more pain, no more suffering, and no more death. Victory is already ours through Christ! The victory has already been won at the cross. That’s a reason to shout! If I just hold my peace, and let the Lord fight my battles, victory shall be mine.
I’ve just given you more reasons to shout than you can count. When you shout for joy in the Lord, it’s not just for you. Your shout is a testimony to others. It declares:
God Is Worthy:
People need to see us celebrating God’s goodness, even in tough times.
Faith Is Alive:
A shout of joy can encourage others to trust in God’s faithfulness.
Victory Belongs to Jesus:
Your shout reminds the enemy that he’s already been defeated.
We shout because of who God is, what He has done, what He is doing, and what He will do. Our shout is not just a noise—it’s a testimony, a declaration of faith, and a weapon of spiritual warfare.Let your shout be a declaration of victory, a testimony of faith, and an offering of worship
Some of you have been quiet for too long. But I dare you to think about what he’s done for you and open your mouth and give God a shout! Don’t wait for the breakthrough to come—shout in advance! Don’t wait for the doctor to call—shout in advance! Don’t wait for the walls to fall—shout and watch them crumble! Don’t let the rocks cry out in your place. Lift your voice and shout unto God with a voice of triumph! Together, let’s make a decision. Let’s be a people who shout for joy, not just in church but in every area of our lives. Shout in your home. Shout in your workplace. Shout in your community. God has been too good, too faithful, too merciful, too gracious, too loving,  and too kind for you to stay silent. You’ve got a reason to shout!
Now, I know life isn’t always easy. Some of you may feel weighed down by struggles, pain, or uncertainty. But let me remind you that your shout isn’t dependent on your circumstances—it’s rooted in the unchanging character of God. So when the bottom drops out, hold to his hand. When you cant trace him or track him, hold to his hand. It’s gone get rough sometimes, but let me remind you to… hold to his hand. Friends will leave and family will walk away, but hold to Gods.. unchanging hand. Im closing, but when you hold to his hand, things start to happen. When you hold to his hand he opens doors for ya. When you hold to his hand, you find peace. When you hold to his hand, you find joy. When you hold you hold to his hand you find love. Is there anybody here that has seen what happens when you hold to his hand? Well look at your neighbor and tell them “Just hold to his hand. I know a man that’s from Galalee, when I was in trouble, he set me free. I’m so glad, Jesus died. He died for you and I. One Friday he was nailed to the cross, he hung bled and died. As the story continued to unfold he barried in a barrowed tomb. He stayed there all night Friday. He stayed there all day Saturday, and all night Saturday. But early (tell a neighbor early). Early Sunday morning, he got up with all power in his hands. And I’m gone hold to his hands. Holding on to God’s unchanging hands. There is joy, there is peace, and there is love. Say yea. Say Yea. Yes sir. I’m going to shout in my good days. I’m going to shout on my bad days. Thank you master for keeping me. Thank you master for sustaining me. I’m gone hold to his hand. to God’s unchanging hands. I gotta quit, but its getting good to me. This reminds me of the hymn (Come on with me Kevin).
