Christians ought to live as the new creations they are because we have heard and accepted the truth about Jesus.
Purpose:
Contrast the old way of life with the way of Christ. The congregation should understand how to 'put off' the old self and 'put on' the new self, living out their true identity in Christ.
Introduction:
1. Christians are those who no longer live like the world (vv. 17-19)
- no longer walk as the Gentilesdo, in the futility of their minds.... Or you no longer walk...
- They are darkened in their understanding
- alienated from the life of God
- because of the ignorance that is in them,
- due to their hardness of heart.
2. Christians are those who enrolled in the school of Christ (vv. 20-24)
3. Christians are those who live who live as new creations (vv. 25-42)
