Introduction

I do not know about all of you, but I cannot believe that 2024 is coming to a wrap.
I remember our first English worship in January.
It was a mess but God has guided us every month and helped us learn lessons and improve.
Do you remember my first message that I shared: What is Eternal Life?
I purposefully made this subject my first message to start the new year with an eternal mindset.
Hopefully, you remember what I shared.
As we approach a new year, we often ask ourselves, “What’s next?
What’s my priority for this coming season?”
New Year’s resolutions fill our minds: career goals, financial stability, health improvements, and family relationships.
While these are commendable, today, I want to invite you to reflect on your main priority for 2025.
Paul’s words in Colossians 1:15-23 challenge us to see life through the lens of our Creator.
Let’s ask ourselves: How can I make Christ the foundation of my priorities this coming year?

1. Recognizing Christ's Supremacy (Colossians 1:15-18)

Paul declares in verses 15-16, "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible,
The first priority for 2025 is to recognize who Christ is in your life.
Christ’s Supremacy in Creation Paul tells us that Christ is not just part of creation; He is its source, its goal, and its sustainer, as in says in verse 17 (“He is before all things, and by him all things hold together.” )
Everything exists through Him, including you and me.
These words stood out to me the most: By Him, we were created. By Him, we holds us together.
I asked myself this question: If so, why do we keep seeking answers elsewhere?
Why do we try to find enjoyment or fulfillment elsewhere?
He is the content creator of our lives. Our live can only be Fulfilled by Jesus (FBJ).
In 2025, let’s not reduce Christ to a Sunday experience or an afterthought.
We tend to experience Christ at church but forget about Him throughout the week.
How are you going to connect the message you received into your life?
Make Him central in all areas of your life—your work, relationships, and decisions. By living according to how scripture tells us to approach these situations.
Christ’s Supremacy in the Church Verse 18 reminds us: “He is also the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything.” As the head, Christ guides and empowers His church. We are his church.
This means that our individual lives are connected to His greater mission.
Ask yourself: Am I allowing Christ to direct my life, or am I still trying to control everything myself?
Practical Priority for 2025: Start each day by acknowledging Christ’s authority.
Let your first thoughts and prayers align your heart with His purpose for you. Pray to Him: Lord, “allow me to glorify you today, guide me by your word.”

2. Restoration of your identity in Christ (Colossians 1:19-22)

Paul writes in verse 19-20 “For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile everything to himself.…”
The second priority for 2025 is to restore your identity in Christ
Restoring myself back to God Christ came to restore the broken relationship between humanity and God.
Verse 21 reminds us: "Once you were alienated and hostile in your minds as expressed in your evil actions.
But through His death, Christ made a way to rebuild our conversations with God.
This is a call Right Now to prioritize your spiritual relationship with God. There is no tomorrow
Are there habits or sins keeping you distant from Him? Repent, and embrace the forgiveness Christ offers.
We were created by Christ, which means we were created to live within his domain.
For us to live our individual lives to the fullest, our first step must also be Christ.
Do not let the busyness of life make you forget your identity.
Your Connection to others The same restoration work Christ did for us compels us to pursue restoring our relationships.
Are there unresolved conflicts in your life? Make it a priority to extend grace, forgive, and rebuild what’s broken.
Practical Priority for 2025: Commit to a deeper relationship with God through prayer, Scripture reading, and worship. Make peace with those you’ve been avoiding or holding grudges against.

3. Remaining Firm in the Faith (Colossians 1:23)

Paul exhorts us in verse 23,
“if indeed you remain grounded and steadfast in the faith and are not shifted away from the hope of the gospel that you heard…”
The third priority for 2025 is to stand firm in your faith despite life’s challenges.
The Call to Persevere The word “remain” implies that the Christian journey is ongoing.
There will be temptations, disappointments, and trials in 2025, but you are called to remain grounded in Christ.
The Anchor of the Gospel Paul reminds us that the gospel is our hope.
When we prioritize Christ, our faith becomes unshakable, because we’re rooted in something eternal.
Practical Priority for 2025: Build spiritual resilience by joining engaging further in ministry together with each other.
Additionally, if you were behind or not consistent with the daily scripture reading, daily proverbs reading or weekly scripture writing, make it a MUST for 2025.
God has granted you a new year. Use this opportunity to the fullest by investing in scripture.
You only have one life. You have been offered this opportunity. Why not live your identity to the fullest.
But it starts in Christ.

Conclusion: What Will You Prioritize in 2025?

Colossians 1:15-23 paints a vivid picture of Christ’s supremacy, His restoration work, and the unshakable hope of the gospel.
As we enter a new year, I encourage you to reflect:
Is Christ truly central in your life?
Are you living out your identity in God and imapcting others?
Will you remain steadfast in your faith no matter what comes?
Let’s not waste 2025 chasing temporary goals.
Instead, let us make Christ our ultimate priority.
Begin each day asking, “Lord, how can I glorify You today?”
If you make Him your focus, everything else will fall into place.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for the reminder that Christ is supreme, reconciling all things to Himself and calling us to stand firm in faith. Help us to make Him the priority of our lives in 2025. Teach us to submit to His authority, to live in reconciliation, and to persevere in hope. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
