God is manifested in the flesh.

I Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

To begin with brothers and sisters, Christmas is almost here. And I found the Christmas Story even in this body of work in 1 Timothy 3:16. It was there all along. And interestingly enough Paul writes to his son in the Gospel Timothy. And He starts off teaching about the character and behavior of the Pastors, the Elders, the Bishops, and the Deacons. As well as the membership.

And ladies you know how it s when you’re shopping and you see a one of a kind item tucked away and seemingly nobody else saw it, so you hurry up and buy it.

And so that’s what I found in I Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. And there are plethora of nuggets to gleam out of this text.

1. Paul says to Timothy that we’re going too rehearse qualifications of the leadership so we can get a clear understanding of how ministry actually supposed to be. Paul said that Preachers ought to desire the office with reverence then

A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; 3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; 4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) 6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. There are at least 20 different items there. At least 20 different requirements for the preacher pastor teacher leader. And it seems to me that God requires the poor preacher to be a (con ya shin ti) A conyashinti is a person with expert knowledge in a certain area. And it seems to me that God wants the Pastor to have his life together before he goes and try to tell others how to live. The worst thing in the world is the pot calling the kettle black. Pastor don’t tell me to get right when you’re Rev Do Wrong.

Then 2. the qualifications for the deacons Look at verse 8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; 9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. 10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. 11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. 12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 13 For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Deacons are supposed to be good men. Men that love God and God’s word and then who are willing to see about the affairs of God’s Church.

3. Finally Paul addresses the congregation in verse 14 These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: 15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Brothers and sisters in all of our doing in the church we ought to know how to behave ourselves in the house of God because we are the Church of the Living God.

And in this season I want unity in the church and love in the church and peace in the church of the living God. In fact we oought to invite the Prince of Peace. Because scripture say that if you keep your mind stayed on Jesus He’ll give you Perfect Peace. God will give us a peace that passes all understanding. Here’s my prayer Lord, I want peace in this season.Lord, I want Joy this season.Lord, I want happiness this season.Lord, I want Love in this season. Lord, I want prosperity in this season. Lord, I want favor in this season. Lord, I want blessings that I don’t deserve in this season.Lord, I want grace in this season.Lord, I want mercy in this season.Lord, I want your loving kindness in this season.Lord, I want healing and good health in this season.Lord, I want a forgiving heart in this season. Lord, I want tender compassion in this season. And the church said Amen.

Then brothers and sisters there are corporate affirmations like Lord, I want the Church to be saved in this season. Lord, I want the church to magnify You in this season .Lord, I want the church to exalt your name in this season.Lord, I want the church to Glorify Your Holy and Righteous name in this season. Lord, I want the church to produce unity of the spirit amongst one another in this season. Lord,I want the church to take care of the least of these in this season. Lord, I want the church to give cheerfully and not grudgingly or of necessity in this season. And the Church said Amen.

Then Finally Paul addresses God being manifested in the flesh in I Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

I see several things 1.without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: Meaning (The NLT 16) Without question, this is the great mystery of our faith: The great mystery of Godliness is the Incarnation Conception of Jesus Christ. In Luke 1:35 Mary if impregnated by the Overshadowing of the Holy Ghost and Jesus was conceived. The Great mystery is solved.

Tell your neighbor the bible says that that’s how it happen, and I believe it.

2. God was manifest in the flesh. This means that Christ was revealed in a human body and vindicated by the Spirit. Can I prove it ? In Luke 2:7 the bible says And Mary brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

3. Justified in the Spirit Do you’ll remember when Peter said that Thous art the Christ the son of the Living God, and Jesus said Simon borjona Flesh and Blood has not revealed this unto thee but My Father in heaven. Jesus was Justified in the Spirit. Further Proof is that God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. And the church said Amen.

4. Seen of angels, Jesus was seen by angels it had to be a spectacular sight for the angels because the angels were watching the Creator become a Creature to save mankind for their sins And so the bible says in Luke 2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. The angels started shouting.

5. preached unto the Gentiles. Brothers and sisters Jesus was announced to the nations. in Luke 2:17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. The went to preaching and proclaiming and pronouncing that Jesus Christ was Born. Go tell it on the mountains over the hills and everywhere God tell it on the mountains that Jesus Christ is born.

6. Believed on in the world, Jesus was believed in throughout the world . The Great Phenomenon of the Birth of Jesus changed History. Here’s what I know, I know that the way we count time changed when Jesus was born. All before Jesus was came into the world every time stamp was B C. But after Jesus was born time has become A.D. Today it 2024 A.D. And the church said Amen. There are over 2 billions Christian in the world today. And so I’ll make my stance right now “ For Christ I live and for Christ I’m willing to die” And the church said Amen. I believe in Jesus Christ and His Righteousness.

7. Finally Received up into glory. Jesus was taken to heaven in glory. That’s the last nugget in I Timothy 3:16 I read in my bible that Jesus rose from the dead with All Power in his hands and then ascended into the clouds and was taken up into Heaven. And I can’t help but back it up with John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. 5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
