Under Attack

Matthew 2:16–23 KJV 1900
16 Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Beth-lehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men. 17 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, 18 In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not. 19 But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appeareth in a dream to Joseph in Egypt, 20 Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child’s life. 21 And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee: 23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.
1 John 3:8 “8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
Jesus under assault
The devil wanted Jesus dead before He was able to free us from our sin
Christianity under assault
World wide assault
in this country
Here is what the devil wants to do
John 10:10 “10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
Who the devil is we need to know
Names like adversary, slanderer, tempter, deceiver, liar, murderer, accuser, and evil one are applied to him in the Bible, and these give a sense of his character.
He is an evil, supernatural being, a fallen angel
However, he is a created being, and is not eternal, self-existent, or equal to God in any respect. Thus he is not omnipresent, omniscient, or omnipotent
Rather, the devil is a creature subject to God’s sovereign restraint and can go no further than God permits (Job 1–2). He was decisively defeated by Jesus at the Cross, but he is still at large and is a dangerous foe until Christ’s second coming (Matt. 25:41).
Steal
By planting mistrust about God
he attempts to snatch away the Word of God from the person who hears it, like a bird eating up seed before it’s able to sprout
Even within the church, teachers can emerge who “distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them” (Acts 20:30). The apostle Paul explained this as why the elders he appointed in the city of Ephesus must shepherd the church well, protecting it from the wolves (Acts 20:28-29).
Kill
He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies”
Destroy
When given opportunity, the Devil destroys everything he touches. Consider Job, who loses his children, his health, and his property. This compulsion to destroy comes into full focus in the Gospels, where the Devil tries at every turn to destroy Jesus. Revelation 12 gives heaven’s view of the Christmas story, where a dragon “stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that it might devour her child the moment he was born” (Rev. 12:4). One way this plays out on earth is through a jealous king who hears a newborn king has been born: “Herod…gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under” (Matt. 2:16).
The destructive malice of Satan against all humanity, and particularly against the church, is channeled through human agents and the systems and institutions they have built. Humanity in general is afflicted by the destroyer through the structures of injustice and oppression of which the flesh and the devil are joint architects, and Christians are murderously attacked by individuals and governments ultimately directed by Satan.
The devil has been attacking the family - God put in place marriage it is ordained by God -
Here the Christ child is born and the devil wants Jesus dead the devil tried before Jesus was born now after He was born
Unsurprisingly, Satan tries to destroy the church Jesus created.
James 1:16–17 “16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
Don’t be deceived the devil is trying his best to fool you, trick you, trip you, make you fall, the devil is deceitful.
Now Christmas is just around the corner, when we as Christians celebrate the birth of our Saviour and the Saviour of the world - satan wants to turn this celebration of the birth of Christ into something else - just a holiday- time to give gifts time to get gifts - Santa going to come see you - Please let us remember what we are celebrating and why - its the Birth of our Saviour - satan is trying and will keep trying to turn it into something else and already has done a good job at it - its not happy holidays its Christmas(even kids know this) and its Christmas because of Jesus Christ - Celebrate Jesus Christ today - tomorrow - and forever - Jesus is the reason nothing else
Ephesians 6:12 KJV 1900
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
We need to understand we are in battle its between good and evil what is great news is we know how it ends and we win - so now is the time tell people about our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ time is short
2 Kings 6:16–17 “16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.”
Church open your eyes and see more are with us that with the enemy - truth over lies - keep fighting the good fight - we are in the Lords army - and when we have God and God has us we can’t loose - matter of fact we win - lets continue to pray for the lost the blinded by satan - that we will be filled with the Holy Ghost I mean filled - let God rule our lives so that other may see Him in us
