1 Corinthians 1:4–9 “I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift, eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Last Week:
“I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus, that you were enriched in everything by Him in all utterance and all knowledge, even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you, so that you come short in no gift...”
This Week:
“...eagerly waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, that you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Eagerly waiting- To wait with eager anticipation and also with activity.
Not Idle
Not passive waiting like sitting on a street corner waiting on a bus.
We work while we wait.
NOTE:
We wait eagerly, not anxiously.
Who will also confirm you to the end.- Christ will establish us until the end.
That you may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ- Christ will present us to God and because of Him we will be above reproach. When we enter heaven we will not have all our sins and shortcomings flashed before our eyes for everyone to see. We will be confirmed blameless, made blameless, and actually be blameless.
Ephesians 5:26–27 “that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” `
