His Glory is Your Story
His Glory is Your Story
So many times we tend to segregate Jesus. Not only into baby Jesus, miracle Jesus, historical Jesus, political Jesus and Savior Jesus but also into Jesus in this part of my life but not the others. In fact, culturally we have segregated Jesus into a Western Christian Jesus, a denominational Jesus and then there is that Jewish Jesus. Brothers and Sisters, the story of Yeshua is not a segregated story but a story of surrender and salvation for all who receive Him. He did not come to sell us a Christmas product we call salvation but to call us to the Lordship of His eternal Kingdom for His glory. And His glory is your story.
You will say in that day: “I will give thanks to you, O Lord, for though you were angry with me, your anger turned away, that you might comfort me. “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.” With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And you will say in that day: “Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted. “Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth. Shout, and sing for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.”
Even though the prophets of old never saw the prophesied salvation of the King Messiah, they lived with thankful hearts filled with hope. The people would often lose sight of that hope and fall away into cultural idolatry. But this was the mission of the prophets of God, to remind them of this hope and point them back to the Father. We live in the same situation, just a different era. All around us are people who have lost sight of hope and have no knowledge of the delivering and redeeming Messiah. You are to be that voice to share with them this hope and point them to the Messiah.
Celebrating Hanukkah, Christmas or Easter once a year are not enough. That is to live a segregated Jesus. Baby Jesus gives us the initial fulfillment of the prophecies. Easter gives us the climax of the Messiah’s reason for coming. But the entire story gives us the whole plan of God’s goodness, mercy, grace, lovingkindness, deliverance, redemption, and ushering in of His Kingdom. The whole story reveals the fulness of His glory. And His glory was Christ Jesus.
When Jesus had spoken these words, he lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify your Son that the Son may glorify you, since you have given him authority over all flesh, to give eternal life to all whom you have given him. And this is eternal life, that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent. I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do. And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed.
Have you ever heard of the called shot? It is the story of Babe Ruth who in the fifth inning of Game 3 of the 1932 World Series, held on October 1, 1932, at Wrigley Field in Chicago picked up his bat, stood at the plate and pointed to deep center field then he hit the ball exactly where he pointed for the home run.
Christ stood firm, pointed to the Father, then made a way for you and I to run home and be restored to the holiness of the Lord. His glory is your story.
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature, and he upholds the universe by the word of his power. After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
As Christ lives in us, we are to let His glory be seen by others around us more than the LED lights adorning our front porches. God never intended for His glory to dwell in a box, a tent, or the brick and mortar laid by human hands. His intent, as from the beginning in the Garden of Eden, was for His glory to dwell in us.
whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
If the Lord uses your mouth and words to speak His hope, love and life into others; if you serve others in your church, community and family, in your workplace and everywhere you go, let all glory and dominion be His. Do not just wait until you put out your little ceramic or wooden nativity scene and hope passers-by get the sum of your decorative gesture. Do not just wait until Easter and hope people learn of the work of our Lord through your gifts of chocolate. Instead, live the full story of the Christ every day by allowing His glory to become your story. The story of His delivering, saving, healing, restoring, and redeeming power, love and grace of your life are your story that will bring glory to His name and point them to eternal life in Christ Jesus.
