Mary & Joseph-Young, unexpected, confused, tired yet courageous.
Mary had not a clue what was going to happen that first night.
Shepherds-probably outcasts, nothing special, just doing “their job”.
It was supposed to be a normal night.
Simeon & Anna-Old and just waiting for prayers to be answered.
Faithful and patiently waiting for God to answer their prayers.
Magi-travelers, smart people, those with means, outsiders.
The “richest” of those that day.
Innkeeper-wanted to help but overwhelmed.
All we read in Scripture is there was no room. The whole area was overwhelmed
For you and me.
This is the mystery and truth of Christmas. Regardless of what character you may find yourself in the story the baby in the manger makes Christmas for you.
