OUR HISTORY
ALRC is an award-winning, full-service public relations agency founded in 1994 serving faith-based and humanitarian leaders, authors and organizations through media relations, digital communications and crisis management.
For over 33 years, our Founder & CEO, A. Larry Ross served as personal spokesperson and director of media/public relations for evangelist Billy Graham, who appeared a record 61 times in Gallup’s “Top 10 Most Admired Man” list (President Ronald Reagan was a distant second at 31 times).
Building on that tradition of excellence and deep experience at the intersection of faith and culture, the ALRC team today represents an impressive and diverse roster of ministries and nonprofits, internationally known authors and leaders, denominations and individual churches, faith-based attractions and museums, products and films, and faith-based business ventures.
OUR EXPERTISE
ALRC is one of the world’s leading public relations firms operating at the intersection of faith and culture.
As an advocate for organizations that have Christian and/or servant leadership as their foundation, ALRC’s business is to partner with clients to help them reach their communications objectives, working on their behalf to secure an expanded presence in all communications forms and forums in order to share their personal stories, brand distinctives and targeted messages with prioritized audiences.
The Agency leverages years of experience and all the public relations vehicles available to help manage issues, framing the message and getting it to the right people at the right time, using the right medium.
OUR DISTINCTIVES
We measure success by our ability to
OUR APPROACH
We are a team of passionate public relations strategists and storytellers who pride ourselves on our creative capabilities, tailored to the needs of our clients.
Our personnel go beyond the role of a publicist, instead serving as proactive consultative communications counselors. Additionally, whenever possible or appropriate, we are advocates on behalf of our clients regarding Kingdom impact and the servant leadership exemplified by Jesus.
We seek to form deep relationships with each of our clients in order to provide personal and professional consultation so they can reach their communication goals through both strategic planning and tactical implementation.
We approach public relations as a management function that speaks to as well as for organizational leadership. We offer more than just the tools to succeed. Our staff of PR professionals has the expertise, experience and devotion necessary to carve a communications niche in today’s crowded multimedia universe.
OUR MODEL
As innovative communicators, we utilize the PESO model of PR to create campaigns that incorporate Paid, Earned, Shared and Owned media all working together, as appropriate, to meet the needs of our clients, which are often centered around informing, educating and motivating key audiences. Our strategies are rooted in research, planning, implementation and evaluation with the client’s objectives in mind, taking into account their unique messaging, stakeholders and mission.
We assess the individual needs of our clients as well as their existing in-house communications capabilities to determine which aspects of the PESO model need to be activated by our Agency. For some clients, this equates to strategically coordinating each element of a PESO strategy while for others, we work in-tandem with in-house or existing communications partners to implement various portions.
OUR CAPABILITIES While we specialize in media relations, digital
communications and crisis management, our team
offers a wide-range of public relations and communication services.

MEDIA RELATIONS
Our principled approach, industry knowledge and media contacts have stood the test of time in the mainstream and Christian markets and helped our personnel develop solid professional contacts with international, national and local media representatives.
We approach earned media strategies as an opportunity to gain positive exposure for our clients by offering them as authoritative resources and source experts to the media. Beyond pitching newsworthy projects that showcase what our clients are doing, whenever possible, we insert them into the “news flow” by emphasizing elements of their stories that speak into issues and concerns the news media are already covering.
MEDIA RELATIONS RESULTS
Our media liaison efforts center on an equal if not larger percentage of pitching and placement with mainstream reporters and outlets than inspirational, and through the years, we have placed clients on virtually every type of faith-based and mainstream broadcast, print and online outlet.
DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS
We work with our clients to tell their story effectively through social media and leverage each platform’s influence to meet their unique goals in reaching prioritized target audiences.
We view social media not as an end goal, but as a tool to further the work of our clients. Our strategies are tailored to look beyond metrics of likes and reach, to instead strive to meet real-world objectives.
Our digital media team works diligently to combine social media best practices with creative, out-of-the-box ideas, allowing us to stretch advertising budgets, generate excitement, and create loyal brand followings for our clients.
DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS RESULTS
We have assisted multiple clients in meeting their objectives through social media, including:
📷ALRC recently created and managed a two-month social media campaign on behalf of Saddleback Church founding pastor Rick Warren’s SBC Stand project, generating over 2 million impressions and securing 4,619 leads (well-beyond the campaign’s targeted goal of 600). Additionally, ALRC’s digital strategy led to more than 43,000 paid clickthroughs to Pastor Rick’s thought leadership videos and articles.
📷Auntie Anne Beiler, the founder of Auntie Anne’s pretzel company, turned to ALRC to create and implement an ongoing social media campaign. In the first three months of engagement, ALRC helped increase engagement on her social media accounts by 421% and increased Anne’s following by 28%. Additionally, ALRC helped Anne launch a series of videos to provide encouragement during COVID-19, resulting in over 70,000 video views.
📷We partnered with The Return to provide social media support for the Washington, D.C.-based global event held September 26, 2020. ALRC provided all content for the social media platforms, monitored the pages, and managed an advertising budget of over $60,000. Throughout the course of the campaign, ALRC gained over 83,000 followers for The Return, over 2.9 million engagements, and over 26 million impressions. Additionally, ALRC drove more than 400,000 visitors to The Return website and collected over 33,700 email leads. By facilitating partnerships with large Facebook pages such as CBN News, Daystar, and more, ALRC gained 4.4 million viewers of the event live stream. Furthermore, ALRC provided customer support and page maintenance, responding to and moderating over 13,000 messages and comments over the course of the campaign.
CRISIS MANAGEMENT
We provide professional objectivity and experience in the face of crisis. Our team is skilled at providing calm and informed decision-making from an outside, third-party perspective during highly emotional situations that threaten irreparable damage. We act in a confidential manner and are seasoned experts, helping our clients look at the big picture and assess the best possible response - emphasizing a focus on long-term value rather than short-term viability.
While most of our client engagements are of a confidential nature, a few damage control examples we are able to share include:
Rick Warren and Saddleback Church. After a 20-month investigation, the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee disfellowshipped Saddleback for ordaining women as pastors. Rick Warren, former lead pastor of Saddleback and now representative, hired ALRC four weeks prior to the SBC Convention to distribute his videos and position papers directly to grassroots leaders and the media. ALRC organized a press conference, distributed releases and statements, handled all media requests and led a successful digital campaign.
Texas Annual Conference. The Agency assisted the Methodist Conference with garnering positive media relations stories as well as drafting internal and external messaging both prior to and following the United Methodist Church General Conference 2019.
CURE International. The Agency handled media liaison and consultation following a shooting in April 2014 at a CURE hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The Discovery Channel. The Agency assisted with the formation and publicity of “The Lost Tomb of Jesus: A Critical Look,” a panel versed in archaeology, theology, Biblical research and other related disciplines immediately following the airing of James Cameron’s “The Lost Tomb of Jesus.”
Bishop T.D. Jakes. In the wake of criticism on his theological stance on the Trinity, ALRC coordinated crisis communications.
Various churches and ministries. The Agency has worked with many to assist in announcing and messaging staffing changes due to moral failures.
Christian colleges and universities. ALRC has worked with a number of Christian colleges and universities who have found themselves in crisis due to changing laws and cultural stigmas. The Agency has provided consultation and messaging to each to assist with unique needs.

Jamie Bowers is passionate about partnering with leaders and organizations to craft and amplify stories with a mission.
Prior to joining ALRC in 2023, Jamie guided rapid response messaging during the historic Dobbs Supreme Court case for Charlotte Lozier Institute, a nationally respected DC-based think tank providing science, statistics and medical research for the pro-life movement.
Mr. Bowers served for more than six years as a senior advisor on Capitol Hill, including Chief-of-Staff and Communications Director for Congressman Robert Pittenger (NC-09). His strategic storytelling and media relations helped secure passage of historic national security legislation to combat the theft of intellectual property and sensitive data by foreign powers.
As a consultant, Jamie crafted stories and strategies to cut through the clutter of an election year and motivate donors to provide more than 3 million meals for families suffering economic hardship due to COVID. Working with another faith-based non-profit, he led efforts to secure $1.6 million in grants to support the mentoring of younger pastors and emerging ministry leaders. As a ghostwriter, he’s helped shape opinion pieces in The Wall Street Journal, Fox News Opinion, Forbesand numerous local publications.
Mr. Bowers began his career as a Christian radio announcer at 89.7 WMHK in Columbia, S.C., before moving to WSOC-TV, the ABC affiliate in Charlotte, where he was a member of the morning anchor team for nearly 13 years.
