Christmas Memes:
Our life moves in the direction of our most dominant thoughts & images.
Take a quick, deep dive with me:
What are your most dominant thoughts and images in your mind and heart? Are you becoming more like those images?
Maybe some of us or all of us need to change our dominant thoughts and images.
Here’s the problem we, without God’s help, don’t see well!
1 Corinthians 13:12a (NKJV)
For now we see in a mirror, dimly.
God is like an eye doctor: Which is better 1 or 2
Stereogram
We have to see the right way in order to see what you can’t see at first.
Behold (def.) - to perceive through sight; to observe; to gaze upon (a thing or person, especially a remarkable or impressive one)
We become like what we behold!
When we first see Jesus, many of us are not interested in Him.
Isaiah 53:2 NIV
He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
At first, Jesus doesn’t look good to most of us.
If you get married for looks, take a picture!
Proverbs 31:30 NKJV
Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.
I want to see & behold Jesus!
1 John 3:2 NKJV
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
Let’s see Jesus for who He really is.

Behold Him:

Revelation 4:8–11 NKJV
The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. And they do not rest day or night, saying: “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!” Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.”
What is so great about Jesus that these spectacular supernatural beings don’t rest in expressing their awe of Him?

Who Is Jesus:

Perfect, Sinless Lamb of God who takes the sins of the world (John 1:29)
The One who takes away eternal death & replaces it with eternal life (John 3:16)
The One who has every right to condemn us for our sins and imperfections, but chooses not to (John 8:11)
The One who gives us boldness & access with confidence to God (Ephesians 3:12)
The One who will leave the 99 safe ones and go to find the 1 who is lost until they are found (Luke 15:4)
The One who gives us beauty in place of ashes & joy in place of mourning (Isaiah 61:3)
The One who is full of both grace & truth (John 1:14)
The One who will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)
The One who wants to call you a friend rather than a servant (John 15:5)
The One who accepts us into His family and inheritance (Ephesians 1:6; Romans 8:17)
The One who loves you enough to lay down His life for you (John 15:13)
The One who wants to make all things new in your life (2 Corinthians 5:17)
When we see Him as He is, we will be like Him.
I believe that if we become more like Jesus, the world will be a better place.

Just One Thing:

Come let us behold Him today - (accurately) just as He is so we can become just like Him.
Revelation 3:20 NKJV
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
