Are You Ready for Jesus

Christmas, is the MOST wonderful time of the year… It truly is one of the most special times of the year. I know what you are thinking but it’s NOT special because of Santa Clause, the reindeer, the elves, or the Grinch,

It’s has NOTHING to do with the christmas tree, lights, decorations and jingle bells..... lifetime movies about finding a husband or a wife. While those things are fun and they make our hearts warm.. the Real TRUE meaning of Christmas is CHRIST.

If you just joining us, we are at theend of a 4 Part Sermon Series titled “Are You Ready for Christmas”

Jospeh Wasn’t Ready - Joshep was a regular man.. Engaged to married to his beauitful Bride and one day she shows up. Drops a bombshell on him and tells him that she pregnat with a God’s Son.....WHAT!!! This was REALITY without the TV... He was cool about it though. He told her, you kool so I am not gonna put you on front street and tell everybody you out here in this street. I am gonna just take you to the court house and get this lil divorce and gonna about my way.. Could you imagine how Mary must have felt.. A lil girl that just said Yes to God.. Is about to become a single mother.. I can hear her cries for her husband to believe her.. to trust her.. Have you ever got in trouble for something you did do.. That hit a lil different right.. that’s how she felt.. Joshep wasn’t ready.. An Angle of the Lord came to Joshep in a dream conforted him.. He told him to stop tripping she is telling the truth and God is the Father of Mary’s baby. So he loved her, he stayed with her, he honored her..

The King Wasn’t Ready - The King heard about this new King of the Jews.. You see this brother had already lost his kingdom once and he wasn’t bout to do it again.. He was king… No ONE was gonna take his throne. He was threated by a baby… When the wise men came looking for the baby that has been born King of the Jews. Herod was hot.. He tried to play them and said “Word.. For Real??A new king.. Oh I heard about him.. Go ahead and find and let me know where he is at…yeah I want to worship him” But forreal though he wanted to kill Christmas. They found baby Jesus they worshiped him and then an angel said go back home a different way and don’t tell the king anything.. The King was 38 hot and ordered all the baby boy 2 years old and young to be killed.. But he Couldn’t Kill Jesus...

The Inn Wasn’t Ready - Jospeh and Mary are heading to pay their taxes.. Joshep got his new pregnat bride. Low key no shade.. The bible say when I man findeth a Wife He Find a GREAT THANG.. It doesn’t matter if she already has kids or not.. Her value is not determined by her past but WHO GOD says that she is.. But Joshep was trying to find a hotel but there weren’t any room for them.. So they were limited to old dirty cave like manger.. From humble begins Jesus was born… Not in a masion as rolatily as he properly deserved.. Instead God choose to come just like you and me. Think about it.. engaged, got pregant form someone else, shame, embrassment.

4. Are You Already for God’s Gift to the World

I understand that it can be hard to think about God’s Love for us. I mean, if we are honest. The closest thing we have to trulyknowing God’s Love is through our Father. You see a Father deposits a seed inside your mother’s womb. She has the honor or carrying you and feeling you before the Father ever sees or touches you.. But when I Father knows that’s my child. His Love for that child is NEVER ENDING. Unfortantly, I know that there are some bad dad’s out there that give true Father’s a bad rap. I know there maybe some dad’d that were never apart of the kids life, there maybe some that never lifted up their children. Some that only tore them down… Some that weren’t there to protect them.. Some that ran out of them…Got.a new family.. Maybe you never knew him.. So when we hear and think about God the Father.. Some of that past hurt come up..

But that’s who God is… God know you better than anything or any one in the world.. You see he created you. He formed you inside your mother belly. But it hard ot believe.. So when something bad happens in life, when you are ashamed of a decision you make.. Instead of running to your Father.. You run away from him.. We say things like I don’t deserve anything from God, Why would He foregive me??? I have messed up too bad this time.. When my kids mess up.. I know they want to put their head down.. They want to give up and I know the thoughts creep in trying to tell them that are not good enough.. When those times happen. I don’t give them less of me… I don’t turn my back on them and walk away and say you failure.. No way.. I stand with them. I love on them more and more. If I, a man understands that I need to be there for my children.. Do you think God Our Father will be there for you… He LoVes to Give us Gifts..

This morning… We are going to talk about the MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE WORLD…

700 years earlier there was a prophet name Isiaha that foretold the birthof Jesus

IS 9:6 6For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

1. Jesus Came as God’s Gift

Isaiah 9:6a For to us a child is born, to us a son is given;

2 Corinthians 9:15 (NIV) Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He GAVE His only betgotten Son

“For God so loved the world, that he GAVE his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 1:14 (NLT) So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

2. Jesus Came to Lift Your Burdens

Isaiah 9:6a+b (ESV) For to us a child is born; to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder,

Philippians 2:10-11 (NIV) that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Isaiah 9:4a (NLT) For you will break the yoke of their slavery and lift the heavy burden from their shoulders.

Matthew 11:28-29 (MSG) “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me — watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill fitting on you.

3. Jesus Came to Meet Your Deepest Needs

Isaiah 9:6 (ESV) For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

1. Wonderful Counselor - John 1:14 (NLT) So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

2. Mighty God Isaiah 9:6c (ESV) and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

3. Everlasting Father - Psalm 103:13-14 (NLT) The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust.

4. Prince of Peace - Isaiah 9:6c (ESV) and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Salome - Not the absence of conflict but the Precense of a Mighty God!!!
