Wonderful Counsellor

The title "Wonderful Counsellor" (פֶּלֶא יוֹעֵץ, pele yo'etz) combines two powerful concepts. "Wonderful" implies something extraordinary and beyond human comprehension, while "Counsellor" suggests wisdom and guidance. Together, they portray the Messiah as one who possesses divine wisdom and offers perfect guidance. This title reassures believers that Jesus is the source of all truth and wisdom, capable of guiding us through life's challenges.
He’s a wonder 1 Ti 3:16
1 Timothy 3:16 NKJV
And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.
Counsellor
All wisdom resides in Him - Col 2:3
Colossians 2:3 NKJV
in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Romans 11:33–34 (NKJV)
Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
“For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counsellor?”
1 Corinthians 1:24 NKJV
but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
This wisdom is available to all who seek Him Ps 16:7
Psalm 16:7 NKJV
I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons.
James 1:5–6 NKJV
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.

Mighty God

The phrase "Mighty God" (אֵל גִּבּוֹר, El Gibbor) affirms the divine nature of the Messiah. "El" is a common term for God, and "Gibbor" means mighty or strong. This title emphasises the power and sovereignty of the Messiah, assuring believers of His ability to save and protect. It is a clear declaration of the deity of Christ, affirming that He is not merely a human leader but God Himself, capable of overcoming all forces of evil.
Psalm 24:8 NKJV
Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle.
Psalm 86:8 NKJV
Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; Nor are there any works like Your works.
O Lord The term "Lord" here is translated from the Hebrew word "Adonai," which signifies a master or sovereign. In the context of this psalm, it emphasis God's supreme authority and dominion over all creation. Historically, the Israelite's recognised God as their ultimate ruler, distinct from earthly kings or rulers. This acknowledgement of God's lordship is a central theme in the Hebrew Scriptures, underscoring His unparalleled power and governance.
there is none like You This phrase highlights the uniqueness and in comparability of God. The Hebrew word "kamocha" (like You) is used to express that no other being or entity can match God's attributes, character, or essence. In the ancient Near Eastern context, where polytheism was prevalent, this declaration served as a bold affirmation of monotheism, setting the God of Israel apart from the myriad of deities worshipped by surrounding nations.
among the gods The term "gods" here, translated from the Hebrew "Elohim," can refer to divine beings or idols worshipped by other cultures. In the historical context of the psalm, this phrase acknowledges the existence of other so-called gods but firmly asserts that they are inferior to the one true God. This reflects the biblical narrative that, while other nations may have their deities, none can compare to the God of Israel in power, majesty, or reality.
nor any works like Yours This phrase emphasises the unparalleled nature of God's actions and deeds. The Hebrew word "ma'aseh" (works) refers to God's creative and redemptive acts throughout history. From the creation of the world to the deliverance of Israel from Egypt, God's works are depicted as mighty and wondrous. This assertion serves as a reminder of God's active involvement in the world and His ability to accomplish what no other being can. It inspires believers to trust in God's providence and power, knowing that His works are both unique and unmatched.

Everlasting Father

"Everlasting Father" (אֲבִי עַד, Avi Ad) speaks to the eternal and paternal nature of the Messiah's reign. "Everlasting" denotes His eternal existence and unchanging nature, while "Father" conveys care, protection, and provision. This title assures believers of the Messiah's eternal presence and His loving, fatherly care for His people. It highlights the continuity of God's covenant relationship with His people through the Messiah.
I am sure you don’t doubt how He can be a Son and the same time a Father.
Which is one of the things that make Him Mighty or Wonderful.
He said so John 10:30
John 10:30 NKJV
I and My Father are one.”
John 14:9 NKJV
Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

Prince of peace

The title "Prince of Peace" (שַׂר שָׁלוֹם, Sar Shalom) encapsulates the ultimate purpose of the Messiah's mission. "Prince" indicates leadership and authority, while "Peace" (Shalom) encompasses not just the absence of conflict but the presence of wholeness, prosperity, and harmony. This title promises that the Messiah will bring true peace to the world, reconciling humanity with God and establishing a kingdom characterised by justice and tranquillity. It is a powerful reminder of the peace that Jesus offers to all who trust in Him.
Ephesians 2:14 NKJV
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
