Exhortation on Carol Singing
Scripture Reading: Luke 2:13-14
"And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: 'Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!'"
Introduction:
Carol singing is more than just a tradition or a festive activity—it is a form of worship, a proclamation of the Good News, and a ministry to glorify God. Just as the angels sang to announce the birth of Jesus, carols carry the message of hope, joy, and peace to the world.
Main Points:
1. Carol Singing as Worship
1. Carol Singing as Worship
The angels sang praises to God, declaring His glory and the arrival of peace on earth.
When we sing carols, we join the heavenly host in worshiping our Savior.
Application: Approach carol singing with reverence, focusing on glorifying God rather than mere entertainment.
2. Carol Singing as Proclamation
2. Carol Singing as Proclamation
Many carols contain rich theological truths about Jesus' birth, His mission, and God's love for humanity.
Singing carols is an opportunity to share the Gospel with others.
Application: Use carol singing as a tool to evangelize, especially to those who may not know Christ.
3. Carol Singing as Ministry
3. Carol Singing as Ministry
Caroling brings joy and hope to the hearts of people, especially those who are lonely or hurting during the season.
It unites the church and the community in celebrating Christ’s birth.

Imagine the shepherds in the fields that night—humble, ordinary people who were the first to hear the angelic carols. Just as the angels brought the message of joy to them, we too are called to carry that same message to the world through carols.

Carol singing is a joyful expression of the Christmas message. Let us sing with hearts full of gratitude, proclaiming Christ's birth and His offer of salvation. As we go out to sing, may we bring peace, hope, and love to those who hear us.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ. As we sing carols, may we glorify Your name, spread the message of salvation, and touch the hearts of many. Fill us with joy and boldness to proclaim Your love. In Jesus' name, Amen.
