Today we are celebrating together the gift Jesus was to us.
We do this when we unify under communion and candlelight.
John 8:12 “Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.””
Unwrapping Christmas: Unpacking Prophecies
Isaiah 9:2: “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.
Written 700 years before.
Jesus died for us so we can be made righteous and through Him we are saved. so we will celebrate with candles reminding us what he says about us.
Matthew 5:14–16 ESV
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Also be reminded that we have a piece of him in us called the Holy Spirit.
The fire represents the Holy Spirit within us.
Matthew 3:11 ESV
“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

Communion

1 Corinthians 11:23–30 ESV
For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a person examine himself, then, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.
This is something we do in reverence here because of the severity.
Today we are going to partake in Communion but I want to make sure you take this only if you have accept Jesus as your saviour so that you dont become weak or ill like scripture says.
In this Moment I want to open a response for someone to accept Jesus.
-God knew we couldn’t do it alone. (Old testament Laws)
-He knew He had to send a Saviour.
-He sent him in a humble way.
-Jesus came as the sacrifice for you.
PRAY- Salvation
-Body
-Bread

Now we recognize the gift and who we are in Christ, its time to take our light and let it shine wherever we go!
