Jesus Knows the Inside Story

Introduction

John 2:24–25 “But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men, And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.”

Every person has an “inside story.” What is your inside story? You may ask, “what is the point of this topic and why does this even matter?” Here is why this is an important topic and why it matters. Most of us try to cover up and hide what’s really inside. We try and cover up the deep spiritual issues within our hearts. But remember we may be able to hide things from our peers but we cannot hide anything from the Lord Jesus Christ! He knows ALL of our “inside stories!” I want to show you that even though Jesus knows our inside story He still offers freedom and life to all those who will trust Him.

Nicodemus a master of Israel in need of rest - Jesus knew Nicodemus was in need of rest. His religion was a dead routine and Nicodemus was tired. He was searching for a living reality.

Samaritan woman in need of redemption - Jesus knew this woman needed redemption and she had been trying to fill this void with vain things her whole life. Jesus knew the inside story and so “He must needs to go through Samaria!”

Peter a disciple in need of restoration - Jesus knew Peter was in need of restoration. Peter had denied the one he loved the most. Peter was as empty inside and broken hearted as man has ever been. He was trying to cover up the hurt and the guilt that was dominating His life.

Conclusion

Is there something you are trying to conceal? Are you in need of rest? What about redemption or restoration? Jesus knows the inside story, don’t keep your heart from Him. Come to Jesus and give Him your heart!
