I believe that this year can be the year of the greatest growth that you have experienced in many years, or perhaps, ever.
Although some growth happens “naturally” just by being alive - much growth happens because of choices we make.
Maybe you’ll make a decision right now to say, I want to personally GROW this year!
I want to be unrecognizably better by the end of this year.
I’d like to give us one area where we can all grow significantly this year.
Something I have noticed in the Bible is that:
God is constantly trying to get us to be like Him/Jesus!
For those here who may not be followers of Jesus Christ yet, I hope you will listen to who Christians are supposed to be and hold us to the highest standards of the things that I preach from the Bible today. - This is who we are supposed to be.

What did Jesus do?

Jesus was a minister
Minister (def.)
1. one who serves as an intermediary in a transaction, agent, intermediary, courier
2. one who gets something done, at the behest of a superior, assistant to someone
Jesus knew that He was not called to simply walk through this life and attend synagogue.
Jesus’ life was meant to change His sphere of influence.
Those He touched continue to change the world.
Are you a product of your environment, or are you setting your environment?
One of the things that I believe is that:
Jesus is desperately trying to get us to take authority and responsibility over our respective spheres of life.
Your life is meant to significantly impact your spheres of influence.
You are not meant to be a church attender only - Every one of us is meant to be a minister to our spheres of influence.

Know Your Sphere of Influence and Authority:

Metron (def.)- area of authority
Metron is the Greek word that the word Meter & Metric System is derived from.
Metric -“a system of measure”
Jesus knew His Metron
Matthew 15:24 NKJV
But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
1 John 3:8 NKJV
He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
John 10:10 NKJV
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
God gave Adam and Eve a Metron & expected them to do something with it.
Genesis 1:26–28 NKJV
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
God expects us to do something with our spheres of Influence. (Matthew 25:15-30)
Parable of the talents (Matthew 25:15-30)
I want to come against something that I believe is a strategy of the devil to stop us from be effective in our metron.
The quiet, self-absorbed, non-relational, solitary, shy, “introverted” culture that has invaded our society is not a benefit to the gospel.
The Bible commands us to preach to everyone everywhere!
I don’t see a place where God gave anyone the gift of isolation or quietness or shyness, but I do see where the Holy Spirit gave people boldness and power to proclaim the good news.
Let’s let the Holy Spirit equip us with boldness to impact our metron!
I’m calling out the Spirits of intimidation and fear & pride that they would not be able to stop the people of God in their metron.
The Devil had to get Adam & Eve to relinquish their dominion and authority over their God-given metron in order for him to be able to dominate.
Don’t vacate your authority!
Romans 12:3 NKJV
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
You have been given authority over & faith for your God-given measure of influence.
Luke 10:19 NKJV
Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
It’s not just your job, it’s your Metron
It’s not just your school, it’s your Metron
It’s not just your family, it’s your Metron
It’s not just your town, it’s your Metron

Just One Thing:

Don’t just go to about your life and look forward to doing “ministry” on Sunday morning - there is ministry to be done in your metron daily. You’re their pastor, they just don’t know it yet.

Discussion Questions:

What is your favorite place/way to decompress?
What are the different spheres of influence (Metrons) that God has given to you?
Read Luke 10:19 and share about how bold you feel about influencing your metron. How has the devil used fear, intimidation, and/or pride to slow or stop you?
How can you begin to minister to the people in your various spheres of influence on behalf of The One who is sending you?
