Welcome

We are gathered here today to celebrate the marriage of
• Trenton
• Gabriel

Prayer

Dear Lord, we are so very grateful for you allowing these two wonderful people to find you and to find each other.  Our prayer is that you not only make yourself present here today but continue to be a part of their lives from now until they take their very last breath.  Father, thank you for Jesus and his love for us.  In Jesus’ name
Amen
There are things within scripture that make marriage very special

Marriage is God’s Design

God created Adam
o Walk with God
o Talked with God
o Named all the animals
Adam was not lonely because he had everything he could ever want in God
o God still said it is not good for man to be alone
o So God made Adam a Suitable Partner
Genesis 2:21-22
21 So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.
22 Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
Then God made her his wife
• Adam was so excited he actually wrote a song about it
Genesis 2:23-24
23 “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.”
24 This is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.

Marriage is a picture of Jesus and His Church

Ephesians 5:24-25
24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.  25 Husbands love your wives just as Christ loves the Church
• Wives are to love and respect their husbands just as the Church honors and respects, Jesus.
• Husbands are to love their wives in the same unconditional sense that Jesus loves us, his church.  (protecting her, pursuing her, Pouring out unconditional Loving her)
This is what marriage is intended to look
• The world should be able to look at marriage and see something truly special because it reflects the relationship that Jesus has with us and us with him

God values Marriage

Jesus starts off his public ministry by performing a miracle at a wedding
• Water into wine
The Miracle Here
Today God is taking two individual lives and bringing them together as one.
My Prayer
• Jesus is not simply a part of this ceremony but he will be a part of your Lives
• That you will love each other through the lens of God’s love for us
1 John 4:7-10
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Let the love you share be as unconditional as the love that is shown to us in Christ Jesus.

VOWS (Exclude)

Trenton:
After hearing God’s word and understanding his will concerning marriage, do you, take Gabriel to be your wife, to love her as Christ loves the church and laid down his life for her?  Do you promise to treasure her and treat her as God’s chosen gift for you?   And to love her as long as you live until death do you part?
If so, answer by saying “I DO”
Gabriel:
After hearing God’s word and understanding his will concerning marriage, do you, take Trenton to be your husband, to love him and walk by his side?  Do you promise to treasure him as God’s chosen gift for you?   And to love him as long as you live until death do you part?
If so, answer by saying “I DO”

As I place this ring on your finger before God and these witnesses I pledge my love to you and you only.  Along with it, I give you all that I am and all that I will become.

CHARGE

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perseveres.
