CROSSING OVER TO 2025

Text: Mark 4:35 - 5:1

Introduction

“We are all in process of becoming. We have already moved from what we were to what we are, and we are now moving toward what we shall be.

This move requires a Journey. This Journey is beneficial but it can also entail challenges.

We are to not quit on the Journey.

Keep the faith on the Journey.

Stay focused on the Promise of the journey

Trust Jesus on the journey - He will walk with you along this Journey. “

35 On that day, when evening came, He said to them, "Let us go over to the other side."

Point 1: The Journey is initiated by Jesus

Jesus just finished teaching. It is late and even though it is night he proposes to “Cross over to the other side. Jesus initiates the Journey

Journey begins - destination, the other side of the sea.

Declaration and a Promise.

36 Leaving the crowd, they took Him along with them in the boat, just as He was; and other boats were with Him.

The Journey requires leaving the crowd behind

The Journey will be accompanied by a Few

The Few will never leave you in good or bad times

The Journey requires Jesus to be on-board

37 And there arose a fierce gale of wind, and the waves were breaking over the boat so much that the boat was already filling up.

38 Jesus Himself was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?"

The Journey will require communication with Jesus

39 And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Hush, be still." And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm.

Jesus speaks to the problem first

40 And He said to them, "Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?"

Jesus asked “Where is the fear coming from?”

If Jesus initiated the Journey - completion for the journey is mandatory

41 They became very much afraid and said to one another, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?"

5 They came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gerasenes.

What ever God says will come to past because God has stamped you name on it.
