How to obtain Peace

1. A Soft Answer
Proverbs 15:1 (ESV)
A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
What is it about a soft answer? is it the words or the tone? in my opinion I believe that it is both.
So does the bible tell us to stay away form everyone that might make us mad? No it does not
Matthew 5:39 ESV
But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.
1 Peter 3:10 (ESV)
For “Whoever desires to love life
and see good days,
let him keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from speaking deceit;
The point is that we remain humble to God to help with this.
James 4:10 ESV
Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
2. Having the right Mindset
mental note (have everyone turn here)
Matthew 6:19–21 ESV
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Say something
3. Resist Revenge
Romans 12:17 ESV
Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
Matthew 5:43–44 ESV
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
Romans 12:19 ESV
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
