Introduction
To many people live life living it to chance, but if we study the Bible we will learn that God does not do anything by Chance.
He is deliberate about everything He does.
In this teaching we will see that if we live life to chance, it is undesirable result we will get.
You will also notice that before God makes a demand on us He equips us.

Key text: Gen 1:26-28

Genesis 1:26–28 (NKJV)
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
For the purpose of this message our focus will be on [v.28]

God blessed them

the word blessed in this context means He filled them with strength.
to bless (favour) — verb. to invoke (or enact) divine favour, often implying a positive disposition or kind actions toward the recipient.
God gave capacity before He gave them the mandate to populate the earth
Matthew 28:18-19 (NKJV)
Matthew 28:18–19 NKJV
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Jesus did not just said to us go make disciples, because i have all authority in heaven and earth.

God said be fruitful and multiply

The mandate to be productive
Notice
He made them male and female in His image
Filled them with strength to be able to archive what they are mandated to do.

Fill the earth and subdue it

In this context the word implies that man would need to bring into bondage, or under control, knead like you shape the dough or subdue the earth in other to archive God’s plan and purposes.
You have to fight for what belongs to you, it would never fall on your laps
Genesis 35:10–11 NKJV
And God said to him, “Your name is Jacob; your name shall not be called Jacob anymore, but Israel shall be your name.” So He called his name Israel. Also God said to him: “I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body.
We saw the fulfilment of this promise come to bear in Josh 1:6-7
Joshua 1:6–16 (NKJV)
Joshua 1:6–16 NKJV
Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, “Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’ ” And to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh Joshua spoke, saying, “Remember the word which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, saying, ‘The Lord your God is giving you rest and is giving you this land.’ Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But you shall pass before your brethren armed, all your mighty men of valor, and help them, until the Lord has given your brethren rest, as He gave you, and they also have taken possession of the land which the Lord your God is giving them. Then you shall return to the land of your possession and enjoy it, which Moses the Lord’s servant gave you on this side of the Jordan toward the sunrise.” So they answered Joshua, saying, “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go.

Looking at another context

1 Timothy 1:18–19 NKJV
This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare, having faith and a good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have suffered shipwreck,
In ancient Egypt, the Israelite's waited for the promise of freedom. They had to take action when Moses led them out; it wasn’t just a promise fulfilled while they sat in comfort. Their journey involved effort and trust. In our lives, God’s promises may require us to step outside our comfort zones, like the Israelite did, to find the freedom and blessings He offers!
Questions
In what ways can we actively pursue the strength that God provides us to fulfil our mandates?
What does the word 'blessed' in Genesis 1:28 signify in the context of God's mandate to humanity?
How can we apply the idea of not living life to chance in our daily decision-making?

Conclusion

If God is intentional and strategic planner, why should live life to chance and luck?
Make no mistake nothing just happen.

Luke 6:38 NKJV
Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.”
Galatians 6:7 NKJV
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
