What do I believe God wants us to do? Inherit the land
Why? The promiseland is where there are blessings
What do I believe wants us to know? Their is land we are called to inherit
Why? It give us hope, future, and a blessing
ME/WE
At the beginning of the year there are certain words or phrases people say that this year is going to be or might be for some people or most people.
I believe there is a word for some of us or many of us in the room today and the word is to “inherit the land” or “inherit the promiseland”
God is calling us to “inherit the land”
There are lands or land that God wants you to inherit
The question is what does that mean to inherit the land?
What does it mean to “inherit”?
Some of our minds go to I know what inheritance is....that is when someone passes away and they give us an inheritance such as money, house, car, and you inherited their possession(s).
This is similar yet different.
It means to TAKE possession of something you did not RECEIVE but have been given..
Under the king of kings and Lord of Lords authority
There is land that God has given to you, that for you to inherit it means you need to NOT JUST RECEIVE IT but you need to take possession of it....we see this all over scripture…God says I have givenyou this land, but you need to go inherit it. Biblically speaking to inherit something is not just to received something. It means to TAKE possession, ownership, occupy the land that has been given to you.
LET ME EXPLAIN
If I inherited you a lot money…make up in your head a lot of money....and you RECEIVED it but you never used it, ever....did you truly inherit it.
TAKE POSSESSION IS HUGE PART OF DEFINITION....their are some promises that come true when we take possession, ownership, occupation
What I am hear to tell you is that there are lands or land that God is calling you to inherit, lands he is giving you
What land does God want me to INHERIT?

PROMISES HE SPOKE TO YOU
Some of us it is to inherit the land of were we live
I want your house to be a spiritual house....right now you would say your house is what is to
For some of us it is our
Spiritual land, God is not calling you to move, but instead for you to inherit the Spiritual house of where you are.
And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
He is going to inherit every single room....he gets the kitchen, the bedroom, the basement, the room we shove everything into....the light of Jesus is being lit everywhere....
We are a city on a hill
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
My neighbors are going to know who I am “a son or daughter of the king of kings and Lord of Lords” NOT BY A SIGN I PUT IN THE YARD, but by the SIGN I DISPLAY BY MY ACTIONS
BY USING MY SPIRITUAL GIFTS THAT GOD GAVE ME
Physical body
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
God is saying this is the year to inherit the land of your physical bodies. Number one New Years resolution goal.
I am not talking about getting a bodies that could go on magazines…that is idolization for many people…what we see is people idolizing their bodies....but God says to us take possession over your body
eat healthy, get some exercise, get some sleep, Sabbath.
Inherit the land of being a father, wife, go on dates, seek the promotion, buy the new house
God is saying focus on being a better parent or spouse
God is saying seek the promotion or new job
God is saying INHERIT whatever promise he has laid on your heart
TENSION
How do we inherit the land God has for us?
How do we let become the Christ Follower that God has called us to be? The Father? The new job or promotion?
We see the principle laid out in Joshua 1:1-9 when God was calling the nation of Israel to inherit the land.
After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, “Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given to you, just as I promised to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites to the Great Sea toward the going down of the sun shall be your territory. No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
After the death the inheritances comes
I will not leave you or forsake you
Be strong and courageous(three times)
What does God say first?
ARISE, GO
To inherit the land means we need to rise up!
For us to inherit what God has for us we must ARISE! Get up.
- We must move from here to there
- I know many of us like here, because we know here, and so we think God just bring it here.
How does this work if we feel God is calling us to inherit where we are....for us to have the marriage or spiritual life God has called us to means we will need to leave the work room and TV room and spend time in the family room or prayer room.
In fact leave the house
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

It says three times
BE STRONG and COURAGOUS

We might strong with being strong and courageous
We might be tempted to be weak and fearful
There are giants in the Land your trying to INHERIT
FEAR…BODY…YOU ARE DESTINED TO BY UNHEALHTY
FAILURE…PROMOTION...
FAMILY....JESUS FREAK
WORRY...
WHAT IFS
Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
MEDIATE ON THE WORD OF GOD
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
